This unusual view of the Town of Newcastle Co. Down was taken from the beach and includes seaside town and the Mourne Mountains behind. The shot was taken in the evening on what had turned out to be quite a cold day, with intermittent rain showers. The large seaweed covered rocks looked to me like giant green turtles all swimming towards shore. I used a 2 stop ND grad to balance out the sky and allow me to capture the detail in the mountains.

Your low angle POV, the rich green of the rocks in the foreground contrasting with the dull town and hills in the background, and the center-point perspective of this shot all work really well. Also like the "movement" of the water around the rocks .... everything contributes to the overall mood. Congrats on a very arresting shot.

What an amazing image, from the foreground to the sky. The rocks covered with green algae in the FG and the beautiful clouds in the sky all work towards the POI in the middle distance. Excellent composition and very good exposure control. A real pleasure to view.

perfect use of the ND filter to balance the contrasted lights but even at f16, the background is not sharp, but thi is not important. you had a dramatic sky to revael the green tones of the seaweeds.
have a niec evening

Excellent sky, great low angle, and I like the bright green foreground colors in contrast with the more subdued colors in the background.
