Murlough beach, near Newcastle, County Down.
Shot on the same day as my 'Ripples' shot and taking advantage of the nice light that was coming and going, I moved into the high dunes to use the beach and sliver of sea as my lead in to the mountains in the background. I had do do very little work to this shot tweaking slightly the raw shot with clarity, vibrance and saturation.

your viewpoint here is fantastic to take in some much of the scene from the far mountains, to the beach and then to the dunes and grasses. excellent depth of field. the light is superb and you have managed it very well to get this great result.

A very good POV on this beautiful beach and the Mournes in the background. I like how we feel in the middle of the dunes. I love the details of the dark cloudy sky. It makes a very interesting atmosphere. Very good sharpness too.
Have a nice day,

Hello Nigel - It seems that you joined TE while I was away on a trip and only now did I discover your gallery. A belated warm welcome to TE. This is a wonderful shot. The textures of the grasses in the FG are lovely and they add enormously to the wild, untouched feeling your shot conveys. The softly coloured bands of sea and sand, dark craggy hills and cloudy sky all work so well together and you have produced a very appealing landscape. Warm wishes Rosemary
