Photographer's Note
this is dundrum bay, county down, northern ireland. it is a large bay on the irish sea coast stretching from newcastle to st john's point. in between are the beaches of newcastle, murlough nature reserve, ballykinler, and tyrella.
this was taken on the beach near tyrella as the tide was creeping in, shortly after sunset.

Hello Brian,
I like the effect on the sea that the long exposure has had, most effective, very serene.
The clouds are just superb adding a fine touch to a well managed scene.

Hello Brian,
I believe that the best pictures in your gallery clearly demonstrate that the best times for photography are at the beginning and end of the day. And judging by your exposure settings, I can imagine that it was very nearly dark when you took this one.
The long exposure has not only allowed us to see what the eye probably could not perceive here, but it has also given a wonderful magical glow and smoothness to the water. The silhouetted rocks break up the seascape beautifully and the sky with its wonderful shades of blue and pink and its clouds lit by the setting sun is fabulous.
This makes me resolve to do some late-night photography: mornings would be nice but getting up early is more of a struggle than staying up late!
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I don't know if I've mentioned him to you or not, but, if you like night-time photography, I would recommend a look at the gallery of one of my favourites on TrekLens - Daniel Orimoloye - his pictures, mainly taken in London, are wonderful though they are mainly city views rather than seascapes. Worth a look, though.

Ciao Brian
un tramonto blu rotto solo da quel piccolo chiarore magenta.
Il tempo lungo di esposizione fa apparire l'acqua come un manto di seta.
Le silhouette degli scogli ravvivano bene il magico scenario.
Cheers
Have a nice friday

Hello Brian - Serene, as only blue can be. The touches of reflected light on the water around the silhouetted rocks are beautiful. The slight pink tint in the sky adds just enough colour contrast for interest. Lovely, a shot to bring peace to the soul! Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Brian
Oooh what a photo. Those blue tones, just as your title says, are so magical. I can just imagine the silence and tranqillity of this place, especially at the moment you took this. The exposure is spot on and the rocks really add an essential element to the photo providing good contrast to the dominating blues. And those clouds wow, you couldn't have asked for better. A lovely shot, I hope it's going to be hanging on your wall somewhere?!
Cheers

Hello Brian,
Another one of your infamous blue hour shot of the coast. The sky with the clouds seems in motion, moving toward us. The soft texture of the sea give a wonderful feeling of peace and tranqility. Just fantastic with rich color and deep tone, yet very soothing to the eyes. Sublime image.
Congrats and thanks.

Hello Brian,
this is a brilliant picture that captivates with its magical light, chromatic tones and atmosphere. The simple composition enhances the suggestiveness and calmness the picture evokes together with a contradictory and fascinating sense of movement. I love the colours and patterns in the sky as well as the way the light and the shadows glide on the surface of the water. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great Sunday and week,

Hello Brian,
I'm very impressed, indeed.
Shade of blue colour is just PERFECT, also composition is spotless with touch of pink placed exactly in the strong point.
Overall IQ is incredible.
Can I ask, what lens and camera has been used for this shot?
Keep up the good job!
Chris
