Hi Brian,
this place does not look real! A very beautiful impression with very moody colors and a gentle light. The image looks like a water painting! Bravo!
Warm regards

Oh Brian this is lovely. So delicate and what exceptionally good light management. The sheen across the water is wonderful. I wish I could see this at a higher resolution and really enjoy all the fine shades and shifts of colour. Beautiful shot, well done indeed. Warm regards rosemary

Hi Brian,
Beautiful minimal shot, and those colours are soft, calm and amazing. This makes me think of the painting of Christ by Salvador Dali in the museum in Glasgow, this would make a perfect backdrop to that scene. Brilliantly seen and captured with what looks like quite difficult light.
All the best
Noel

Ciao Brian

Hey Brian
very interesting, very interesting indeed.
I have to be honest....at my very first glance in the small thumbnail view, I didn't have alot of high expectations for this photo.
But boy was I wrong about that.
some photos must be enlarged from the small to the large sizes to be fully appreciated.
here we can see the ghostly movement of the blackened water, but the best feature has to be that painters brush stroke of black across the skyline.
never seen anything like that before!
its a winner for me!
cheers

Hello Brian,
This picture owes its wonderful beauty to its utter and sheer simplicity. Not that it could have been at all easy or simple to capture - just that its simple composition and "lack of frills" makes it so stunningly beautiful.
Your very careful and painstaking use of ND and graduated filters has certainly paid off here giving the most beautiful contrasts of light - the gorgeous red light above the horizon, the streaks of dark cloud and then the merging into blue higher up - and the bright distant reflections on the water gradually becoming darker and more interesting as we approach the camera.
Fabulous textures and wonderful shades in the smoothed water too. Perfect exposure, stunning colours and exquisite details and sharpness.
A Beauty!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. This just has to get added to my "favourites"!

Hello Brian,
I have not been very active on TE recently so trying to catch up. This is so simple and beautiful - a real work of art. Although very minimalistic there is still plenty of subtle colour and texture variations to maintain interest. Fabulous technique.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Brian,
Simple but great !
It's a good sample for the fact, that a good photographic work does not need to have much colors or details.
This is quite the same as in Japanes paintings; to tell much with only a few lines or figures.
TFS and best regards

HI Brian
Oooh that's pretty. And as you say, more like a painting than a photo. You've captured so beautifully those amazing textures in the sky and sea. But above all you managed to obtain some colours that I don't even have a name for. My God they're beautiful though, and contrast superbly with one another! What a shot, you must be delighted with yourself! Good on you Brian, it's stunning.
Cheers
Lisa

Hello Brian,
a delicate palette? I really like the complementarity between the ripples on the water surface and the slight straks in the clouds. Their conflicting curves add a subtle tension, a subtle dynamics. Congratulations,
Emmanuel
