Photographer’s Note
Rapeseed, a large winter or spring annual oil crop in the Brassica family, is related to mustard, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and turnip. Rapeseed plants grow from three to five feet tall and have yellow flowers with four petals.
Traditionally, industrial rapeseed is produced for birdseed and oil for industrial purposes. Industrial varieties of rapeseed are used for non-edible purposes such as lubricants, hydraulic fluids and plastics.
Taken yesterday evening an hour before sunset.
Thanks for looking :)

Well captured this field of rapeseed. The position of the tree is very well chosen.
It makes it a real eye-catcher.
Well done.

Hi Gary,
Ah, nice yellow tones here!
I like how you start that one line with 'Traditionally...' since yesterday I was watching a CNN special on how the (upcoming) oil crisis is putting a strain on food prices...
Thanks for sharing!

Hey Gary!
I have been looking for ome decent rapeseed fields in my area, i think i have managed to find one though.
As for this shot, i think its lovely! The track that the tractor uses and the tree, it all fits together perfectly...........infact it is the classic rule of thirds!

Hi Gary,
Very nice composition. It looks like the tree on the right stands on an island in the middle of this rapeseed field with so beautiful colours. I like the sky too, a great one.

Olivier

Hi Gary, a lovely scene with these Rapeseed flowers. Very well composed composition btw. For the last couple of weeks there is a field near my house with such a display, if I "ever" get delivery of my @~*&> camera I may be able to capture somthing close to this before this blaze of colour is over. Very nice work.
