Photographer’s Note
Taken This morning at 7:30 in Derrymore woods in bessbrook Co Armagh. A picturesque wood owned by the National trust near that has the popular attraction Derrymore House just down the hill from where this was taken.
Derrymore House in Bessbrook, N Ireland is typical of the informal thatched retreats, or cottages ornées, boasted by many estates in the 18th century. It was built in a picturesque setting by Isaac Corry, who represented Newry in the Irish House of Commons for 30 years from 1776.
Bessbrook is situated in South Armagh about 5km west of Newry. It is passed on the S by the A25 and on the E by the B133 but neither road enters the village. The site was chosen in the mid-19th century to build a large linen factory and the core of the "Model Village" dates from the second half of that century. Most of the original village still exists and there are many modern additions.
thanks for looking

Beautifully balanced composition Gary. Good use of the overhanging branches to reduce the harshest of the suns rays. Wonderful range of golden tones. Very autumnal indeed. Best regards, Roberto

Hi Gary
What a wonderful sunny morning. Sunbeam in the mist are great. The foreground with this old tree is very good. Congratulations.

Hi Gary,
Just arrived back home after 30 hours of travel, so I won't make it a lengthy critique. Love the light. Nice composition and very natural. Couldn't say where the ND grad ends. Very well controlled light!

Hi Gary, well its a cracking good capture with marvelous warm tones and solar illumination. You really are a brilliant photographer with such a keen eye for these compositions. I notice your now using 5D. I have to say I am very tempted to make such an upgrade myself even for the bigger brighter VF. Best regards Steve..

Fantastic light & composition, the size contrast is such a powerfull symbolism, and the mastery of HDR exposures a definitive edge.
