Photographer’s Note
I havent posted in quite a little while so heres my first for 2009.
Dont know how but i managed to drag myself out of bed to shoot the first sunrise of 2009. Wasnt the best sunrise ever but a nice frost and a calm lake.
At around half ten there were about a hundred mad people swimming in the lake for charity. Rather them than me as it was still about -3.
Camlough lake is in South Armagh Near the small village of Camlough. Camlough (from the gaelic crooked lake) is a 'glacial ribbon lake'. The lake is home to an array of bird, insect and fish life including Grey Herons, Moorhens, Mute Swans, Great Crested Grebes, Pike, Roach, Bream, Eels and Perch.
Thanks for looking and a happy new year
Gary

Lovely view.. I like the pink shades in the sky, while the sun is partially hidden by clouds. The mirror effect in the lake is excellent. Good work on light.
Well done.

Hi Gary,
this is gorgeous, the golden and pink light is magic - it reminds me those images depicting the light at the end of the tunnel.
Happy New Year to you
Best regards

Hi Gary and happy new year,
good idea to have woken up in early this cold morning, the result is pretty good.
The light allows well to see the freeze on the grass on the foreground and gives this nice reflection on the lake. Good compo, good job.

Hi Gary,
well...I think it was worth it. Draging out of bed for This.
It is remarkable photo in all aspects. Well, I'm no expert but watching it is a pure delight.
The light, slightly dramatic scenery partially covered with morning haze and crispy clear and sharp cold vegetation in front all create one superb entirety.
Happy New Year to you too,
Jeri

Hello Gary,
A typical McParland again! No extra props taken with you on your trip this time I see. But it keeps it nicely natural.
Welcome back again!
