The Giants Causeway is a region located at the tip of Northern Ireland and is renowned world wide for its beauty and unique geological qualities.

The region is made of a volcanic rock called basalt which flowed out of the earths crust some 50-60 million years ago. When it cooled and solidified the chemical elements in the basalt formed approximately some 40,000 geometric, mostly hexagonal, shapes.

Hello Stephen
Wonderful capture from the giants causeway, perfect splash moment, with the rock detail just mesmerizing. Warmish colours in the background look very soothing. Well done with the grad to get this capture across. May I add this to my Irish coastal theme captures?
Well done, Jim

hello Stephen,
this is a magical image, quite stunning.I like the gold spattered rocks and the saphhire water. Your POV is just right, showing us the rocky pinnacle and the diagonal line of rock that leads to its base.

Hello Stephen,
again a fantastic composition of the nature's wonder, beautiful light and the splash of water on the rock is an eye catcher.
BTW following your recommendation I got up for the sunrise - first time in my life :-). the sunrise itself did not show anything spectacular, but the light 30 minutes after was gorgeous.
Thank you
Best regards
Romana

Hi Stephen,
You post such great shots all the time, that all other shots become pale in comparison! I wonder if I will be able to take at least one shot that is as good as the worst shot in your gallery!!
I don't have words most of the time to write a critique, in fact your shots don't even need a critique. They just speak for themselves!
THANK YOU! for sharing.
Best regards,
Shaeri

Hi Stephen,
I've seen many shots of the Giants Causway but none to equal this capture. Every detail is perfect. Wonderful photo.
Cheers
Peter

Outstanding piece of photography, heavy post procession but I like it.
Congrats and TFS

Stunning work Stephen!

Compo is brilliant with the wave exploding at a rule of thirds junction. The detail in the rocks contrast brilliantly with the smoothly exposed motion of the water. The Lee filters allowed you to control the sky nicely.
Very well executed shot mate.

One question for you- what do you have your metering set to in your 5D, evaluative?

Cheers!

hi Steve,
another breathtaking photo, I keep admiring how the line of the splashing wave then continues upwards as rocks, that strong diagonal adds a lot to the composition. the ice blue in the water contrasts well with the warm tones of the coast, and the quality, as usual in your work, is impeccable. great work, my compliments.

Kristine

Hi Stephen,

I´ve never been to this famous place, and I would really like to go...great landscape shot, and there are also many legends from irish mythology bound to this place, right...

Take care, Ivana

Hi Steve
very original shot, with an excellent shutter work to capture the splashing wave. The xposure is great, colours superb and very nice dof and perspective.
excellent job
cheers

Nice work Stephen, like the wave and themoment you captured. I can imagine how hard had to be to take moving wave standing on the low level near waving.

Kind Regards Jiri

Amazing Avalon or Elvic effects!
I think you might wish to explore cinematic special effects or other visual arts- you have a rare talent, use it & TFS
