A view of the harbour in Portrush situated on the North Antrim coast.Portrush began life as a small fishing village near the remains of a Norman Castle, but with the advent of the railways it quickly became the major tourist attraction of Northern Ireland.Built on a promontory Portrush has two sandy beaches, the East Strand and the west Strand.

Hello Arthur ,
This is a picturesque harbour . I like a lot the pretty little boats contrasting so well with teh dark water . Superb Clarity and colors .
I try to do a WS , for a tighter framing , cropping the high part that is a little distracting .

I like very much this close look to the little boats of the harbour. The boats and the ropes create a wonderful rhythm within the frame (which Denis' workshop has focused on and accentuated). Lighting and contrast have been managed superbly, the colours are rich and vivid. The rhythm and the vibrance of the floating boats and the stretching and loosening ropes are very playful and delightful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Lovely colorful scene, and the deep blue of the water is really attractive. I look at these tiny little boats, and I have to wonder how safe I would feel crossing a large body of water in one! The lines keeping the boats steady are amazingly vibrant too, and really stand out.

Photographers and boats are like jam and bread, they just go so well together!
The mooring ropes are an important detail to your photograph, causing the viewers to follow them, gathering together the central line of boats as a focal feature. The reflections, especially of the wall, add depth.
My only suggestion would have been to get the whole of the f/g boat but that is a small concern. I know I have been captivated by scenes and clicked away, only to find on my monitor that important bits are missing from the tips of features. Just being aware of it has helped me a lot in my compositions!
Have a great w/e,

I love the succession of lines going from the pier to the boats. A very cute little corner.

You know why I like this scene?
all the ropes! haha
look at them all, a person could easily trip and kill themselves if that weren't water! haha
the ropes even have different colors too, who would have known that the simple ropes could make the photo so enjoyable!

Fabulous sight of the low-tide between the jetty and dyke, anchored boats in their position enhance the depth on picture.

Hello Arthur - This is an attractive scene with the small boats bobbing in a tiny safe harbour. I very much like the way you have composed the shot with the ropes gently looping from both sides of the harbour walls. Finely captured colours and sharpness here, nice work. Warm regards rosemary

each time I see boats and harbours, my heart jumps a little bit higher and this image is a very pleasant one. The photographer’s perspective is excellent. The deep blue color of the water makes the image very attractive. My compliments also for the interesting composition!
