Last weekend we went for a drive through the Glens of Antrim an area of outstnding natural beauty.Cushendall a small village lies at the the meeting point of three of the nine Glens of Antrim. The glens are deep valleys that radiate from the Antrim Plateau, a product of glaciation formed during the last Ice Age. At the centre of the village is this curfew tower built by Francis Turnley around 1820 as the town jail five storeys high with its own dungeon. It is currently run as an artists residency.

I'm a big fan of seeing such inner city scenes in far away countries, these are the scenes we just dont get to see otherwise through websites like TE.
Funny looking building on the left, with the curved yellow corner.
a fine post for us to see

Interesantan tekst o staroj arhitekturi, sa datim podacima.
Dobra kompozicija i perspektiva, lepo pokazano mesto i stari zatvor, lepe boje.
Imajte lep dan, sve najbolje.
An interesting article on the old architecture, with the given data.
Good composition and perspective, nice place and shown the old prison, beautiful colors.
Have a great day, all the best.

I love the curves in this photo. Well seen and skillfully rendered. The red phone booth is a definite enrichment.

Ha! Ha! Arthur, I just had to laugh , as I read your notes, at the thought of artists being secreted in the jail ... for the safety of the residents!!
Your shot makes us stop and think ... which way should we travel first, a dilemma not common in photographs, which are usually composed to lead the viewers directly to a focal point. I enjoyed the choice and have to say, went left first. Maybe the thought of climbing the steep hill was initially off-putting!
An interesting shot and despite the lack of sunshine, nicely detailed.
Have a great day,

Good morning Arthur,
The old tower, with its notorious past, nowadays stand in fine contrast to modern houses around.
Fine corner POV, show the roads lead uphill's and down, that added extra depth to the scene.
Maybe I'd tend to gice up the yellow edifice on left, and crop it altogether. My idea only.

I love your point of view, the angle on this emphasisez the height of the tower, and also shows the prominent position it occupies in the town. I imagine in its day, this presented a foreboding sight to anybody who may have considered breaking the law. Excellent view up one street and down the other offering a brilliant sense of depth to the place. I would imagine this is a cool place to live now too, although its current function is far removed from its original!
Thanks as always

Magnificent view and great location of the tower opening two streets, a dilemma that street follow that of the slope seems less interesting, the bottom shows the background with beautiful houses with colorful facades, better investigate ....
Very good level of colorful, very natural tones.
Also both sharpness, such as lighting are appropriate.
Well done. I like
Enjoy a nice day.

I like very much the composition with which you are offering us this view and the way the townscape is drawn by decisive and attractive perspectives. There's superb depth and clarity and following the two streets is very intriguing and enjoyable. You chose an effective upwards point of view filling the frame with dynamism and interest. The Curfew Tower is a very interesting structure that has been used for strikingly different purposes. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
PS I have posted a reply to your comment on my "quarry" picture:)

Intéressante vue de cette ancienne tour entre deux routes, et un contraste très voyant avec les autres bâtiments, surtout celui en jaune, bien vu et réaliser
