During my visit to the Glens of Antrim at the weekend I came across this mural on the wall of house in the village of Cushendall. The mural is commemorating 100 years of the local hurling club Ruairi Ogs founded in 1906. Hurling is an ancient Irish game played with a ball roughly the same size as a tennis ball called a sliotar and a hurley stick (caman) made from ash wood cut from near the base of the tree and usually made by local craftsmen. The game of hurling is said to be the fastest team game on grass.

What a beautiful mural Arthur, successful post, a great artwork and tribute to that hurling club of Antrim
High resolution, good framing, there is another mural on the right with a swan, all the best, warm regards

Marvelous painted wall, Arthur, with admiration to a sport theme.
The colors are vivid and bright against the grey sky aloft.
Made a good choice added the street view on left: that gave extra depth to the scene.

What a difference these murals make to the environment, and what a a nice and friendly subject too. The colors are superb and compliment the colors of the houses on the left really nicely. And again, like the prison tower, your upwards point of view is really nicely suited.

a very attractive mural that's rich and comprehensive and tells a story about the game and its strong bond with the Irish culture. The vivid colours are eye-catching and delightful, on a bright day the attraction of the mural must be overwhelming. I like how you've managed the moody lighting and the colours as well as the way you've enriched your composition with perspective and context. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Très jolie peinture murale sur un bon sujet "le sport", de belles façades colorées sur le coté, belle présentation

What a beautiful find! Somebody took great pains to transform the facade of this house into a painting and you have recorded it most skillfully, taking this as an opportunity to tell us about hurling.
Now, of course, curious eyes wander a little to the right and wonder what that swan/goose is all about...

bellissimo murale, interessante anche il riferimento al gioco tipico, ma l'inquadratura comprende anche quella bellissima diagonale di facciate colorate, spero di vedere le foto di queste.

Good framing to include the colord houses of the street. The picture is too grey for my taste (even if the weather was not so good), so I propose you my version.

Sensational composition, while highly original, with this beautiful and graphic painting on the wall of the house, the facades of the houses we see on the left, with those bright colors make the composition as a whole has a chromatic fabulous.
A very bright image with optimum clarity.
Enjoy a great weekend.

Very colorful tribute to the local hurling club indeed. Not that I know much about hurling, I am more in for winter sports (Ice hockey being the sport I played myself in younger years).
The row of colored houses to the left is very attractive also. It reminds me of some little towns in Ireland that we drove trough recently.
have a great weekend

how the heck did I miss this one in your gallery?
its full of vibrant colors and for sure a well documented note about hurling - never really heard of it before. Sounds like you'd have to be quite fit to play it well.
I like that you added the row of rainbow houses on the left too, a fine compliment to the main mural.
cool photo to post
