In the sleepy little town of Crumlin about 20 miles from Belfast is this delightful little glen. Its name is derived from the Irish 'Cromghlinn' meaning 'Crooked Glen'.There is a beautiful walk which passes through a wood with a mixed variety of trees, plants and birds.Birdlife includes herons and dippers and down on the river otters can ocasionally be spotted.
This photograph shows the waterfall about halfway down the glenn. There were a few dry days without rain before this shot was taken so the water level was not at its highest. The bottom lefthand corner of the picture shows part of a man-made fish run which allows fish to swim up and down stream.

Good Morning Arthur,
A lovely diagonal composition helps the implied movement of the tumbling water. I do prefer to see the water tumbling and splashing, rather than captured with a slow shutter speed.
The lichen and moss, edging the stream, is almost iridescent and adds much to the mood of the photogrpag.
Have a great week,

your scene here is so lush and green, the mossy rocks being particularly eye catching to me. I love that you composed this to have both the racing water over the rocks as well as the straight line of the upper falls. Lovely shot, cheers

Wonders like this that nature provides us, is forcing us to keep .... POV sensational showing us these fast water between the rocks, the small waterfall in the background completes a truly stunning image.
Nice coloring, especially on the greens.
Very good also the sharpness and brightness.
Have a good day.

Hello Arther - The greenness of the vegetation jumps out here and makes a wonderful counterpoint to the frothy white water and dark rocks. The light is just right and well managed with good detail in the whites. A lovely scene. We didn't get to N. Ireland on our recent trip but hopefully will do so 'ere too long. Your description of the glen is excellent and tempts me to visit! Warm regards Rosemary

I can almost hear the rushing water. It is a very pretty corner, crooked or not. I am sure these rushing waters, full of dynamism in this photo, would look very serene with timed exposure (hint, hint, if you have a chance to go there again).

You share with us a very attractive place of nature.
The weather was probably cloudy but you render a good light. We can feel the dynamic of flowing water.

Good morning Arthur,
nice the tight frame with the little waterfalls to spread and cover the whole scene. The light management enhance the vivid colours making the beauty of the place even more effective and unique.

at first I thought that the glimpse of the man made structure at the bottom left corner was a little distracting but, after reading your note, realized that it's an integral part of this place. I love the diagonal that that defines your composition and enhances its dynamism. You've captured the running water wonderfully, texture, luminosity and all. The colours evoke fantastic naturalness and freshness. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
