Photographer's Note

Kenbane Castle, near Ballintoy on Northern Ireland's North Antrim Coast. This castle was built in 1547 by Colla MacDonnell. The castle was besieged a couple of times by English forces in expeditions against the MacDonnells. It was partly destroyed by canon fire but was rebuilt afterwards. A hollow underneath the castle known as 'The hollow of the English' was where a Garrison of English troops who were laying siege to the castle, were surrounded by the clan MacDonnell and massacred.
