Derek,
a great shot! The blurr gives an artistic tiwst indeed. The only problem with such images is that it isn't a given and to get something magnificent as it is here and might take a long time of experiments.
Have you ever heard about the American photographer Neill William. He does a lot of that type of photography and he states that there are days that he tries and tries and doesn't get anything to finally get one single shot with a good image.

The effect produces by these only vertical lines and this horizontal centring is excellent.
