Photographer’s Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This will probably be the last of my shots from this particular outing to The Lakes (apart from the w/s). It captures a view of Sour Milk Ghyll as it tumbles down from Easdale Tarn. The stream is called Sour Milk Ghyll because the whiteness of the rushing water resembles milk.
In the f/g, the characteristic drystone wall, with its slanting coping stones, has begun to show signs of neglect, but provided a fine viewpoint for photography!
The large patches of brown are mainly a result of the bracken dieing. I found a special, large patch, complete with its very own resident sheep, to place in the w/s. Here you are, JY ... challenge fulfilled!
Shot in Raw, converted in PSE6.
Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

HI Beverley
He he, great WS, now you'll have to argue with Kath about where do the best sheep come from ;-)
Nice landscape here under attractive sky, looks a bit difficult to make your way through
Have a nice day JY

Hello Bev,
A very attractive and well composed scene. I like the use of the stonewall as a partial frame. As well as creating a feeling of depth it makes a nice contrast with the greens and browns of the landscape.

Good morning Beverley!
A really wonderful and impressive scenery - worth to be shown here! This stone wall is a very suitable element here, creating depth. Hiking there must be great! I think sharpness here isn't the best ...
I also like the ws photo very much!
Greetings from autumnal cold, rainy and grey Germany!

Hi Bev
I actually didn't know the name of the falls, although I've heard it before somewhere.
In a similar way to the previous image you used the wall well in this one. The gap prevents it 'closing off' the view beyond. There is also a good visual balance between the wall on the left and the tree on the right. Excellent WS too. Now I wonder where I saw that sheep before! ;D

Hello Beverley,
Very bucolic, very plesant shot with the wall which give a FG and a greta depht to the image. The water of the small mountain's river arise vrey well in the beautful warm colors. Good and interesting shot.
Best regards,

Hello Beverley ,
A great composition , with a large part for the stoned wall , and the beautiful tree very well placed . MAy be , it would be yet better , if you had chosen a POV slightly different , to have the fall in the break of the wall .

Hi Bev,
I see this photo as a picture with two strong parallel lines of stones (and rocks). Between these lines lies a beautiful landscape with trees and a waterfall. The slope along the waterfall seems quite steep, but it is just as easy to admire it from below!
Kind regards

Hi Beverley,
although this image is a wonderful and very well composed impression of this fascinating place it is the photo in WS that is really thrilling me! What a lovely and adorable portrait of this wonderful creature! My compliments!

Ciao Beverly,
very particular the river of milk that goes down, beautiful the sight of this country, finds interesting the wall that breaks the image.

Hi Beverley
The break in the wall allows & encourages the viewer to continue on towards the waterfall. Good sharpness & colour with superb saturation & framing. Tfs!

Hi Bev,
The break in the old stone fence makes an excellent lead-in to the sour milk stream and on up the lush green hillside to the lovely contrasting blue sky.
Crisp clear colors and sharp details to this fine country image.

Hi Bev.
Yet another beautifully composed photo full of lovely greens and browns. There's a nice line from the gap in the drystone wall to the milky waterfall and then on up to the peak. I like the shadows in the wall, too. I wonder if a small movement to the right before you took the shot would have been productive, showing a little more of the Ghyll and making the gap even more of a frame. I like the WS, too - you don't see sheep like that here!
Regards,
Andrew

belle photo de ce très jolis endroit, belle vue de ces pierres entassées et de cette rivière qui coule en haut de l' image.

Hello Beverley,
The bucolic and rugged landscape really does capture what I would hope of Cumbria, and the creature presented in the workshop adds another dimension. The rustic wall, to me, is also highly British, especially in Northern England. An excellent shot, overall.
Warm regards and have a good weekend,
Bulent

Hello Beverley
Odd name for the small cascade. Well framed with the stone wall on the lef, which IMO balances the tree on the right well. Good contrast with the sky above. Very rustic landscape, well captured!
