I chose this particular angle to incorporate the Heel Stone into the shot. I really wanted to put the setting sun behind it, but as another commented on, the time-frame for access to the site didn't allow for it. These were taken in September, and unfortunately the site didn't open til after sunrise and closed before sunset. Sometime closer to the Winter Solstice would improve chances for that shot.
Darkened down the shadow somewhat to get a stark silhoutte.

Hello Anthony,
What a nice silhouette. You have captured the autumn light in the northern hemisphere very well. Too bad you couldn't incorporate the sun in your composition.
I think you have been a little too intense with your post production of the sky - that why it was grainy.
Fine image.
