I finally discovered these pigs after a long search. We were told that there were wild pigs in the New Forest however, until we came across these I had my doubts. As like the New Forest ponies, these pigs are also allowed to roam free although they tend to stay around certain areas unlike the ponies which travel further distances. These pigs are also owned by the habitents of the New Forest and if they become ill or injured, the vets bills are paid by the locals.

Wilson good evening,
You tell us a history of pigs, and it is very funny and sympathetic. I like the pig in the form of pork-butchery, but in your photo, they are tenderizing. Beautiful and surprising image. Cheer.
vinicio (23423) 2007-08-17 14:26
Nice family's view, even if a bit unusual from you the photo is nice and under the right POV is lovely, technically good it show an interesting daily life in the country, nice idea and well done image, congratulations Wilson.
AROBN54 (11475) 2007-08-17 17:30
what an oddly touching shot of such an unlovely family. I like the different colors of the pigs and the different poses they take. The color is excellent and I like that kind of soft framing around them. That adds a nice touch. This is really a great shot. Warm regards,

Un moment spécial bien capté. original .Les couleurs de plus: elles sont précises et à point. Belle prise de vue, j'aime ...réal.
gunbud (34066) 2007-08-17 19:56
Great nature shot with very strong clear colors and exeptional details to these gentle beast. I love the framing and the story how the local folk care for these intelligent creatures.
gary91 (15348) 2007-08-17 21:51
Estonished to learn that wild pigs are still existing in England... I thought it was only in France :o))
I loke your note and the way people are taking care of these animals.

I really like this photo. It has a warm feeling to it with the closeness of the piggies. Composition is excellent with the crop. Regards,
kiwi_explorer (12209) 2007-08-18 3:17
Your wild pigs over there have it easy ... they even have their own housing and free medicare :) Nice blurness in the photo fringes to create a nice border. Well captured and presented. Well done! Have a nice weekend ... tfs.
cuneyt-sb (6576) 2007-08-18 3:21

Fantastic colors and I like the softness of the edges that draws you to the great poses the little oinkers gave you. A great shot.
prumod (8300) 2007-08-18 10:36
sharing of love is the most beautiful thing in the world! for everybody... not only for human... your shot is very lovely... normally human consider them as food only!
luiscar (3286) 2007-08-18 11:54
cfreire (11741) 2007-08-18 13:30

jmcl (14535) 2007-08-18 13:35
A tender moment of pork .. I like the dreamy diffuse edges ... a very rural feel .. they don't seem that wild here with the structure .. very nice.
bracasha75 (24591) 2007-08-18 14:30
Pigs are pigs but they feel the heat to..
Do you now that human and pigs heart are the smiliarst..

Great story and great picture, a bunch of realy happy pigs.
danyy (0) 2007-08-18 15:22
macondo (19806) 2007-08-18 18:47
Hi Wilson. A nice, rustic shot, a bit like an illustration from a children's book. A lot will think it 'cute', I'd say! Colours are rich and earthy and the soft edges and frame are suitable in this case. Great title too, by the way.
syd1946 (18663) 2007-08-18 23:29
It looks like a happy family!Nice colors and light in well captured image. The pigs placed very well to the frame.I like it very much...
Have a nice Sunday,
Graal (103038) 2007-08-18 23:33
funny view, fine colours of pigs, nice scene and "portraits" Good idea and unusual theme. I like it.
feather (51130) 2007-08-19 3:54
I knew about the ponies but not about the pigs. Who would have thought that a picture of pigs would be so endearing?! Your long lens paid offf here filling the fram with the little family group. I also like the effect you used with the blurred edges kind of adding to the cuteness factor. Well done
btw we shared a spot on the home page the other day. (featured destination - Cumbria) It was your peacock.
danos (103212) 2007-08-19 4:57
Hello Wilson ,
nice the view of these wild pigs in this family gathering. Excellent the colours and the lighting. From your informative note i know the existence of the pigs in the Greet Britain.Well done.
emjleclercq (15780) 2007-08-19 13:32
A very nice group of pigs with different colors. But are you sure they are so wild since their shelter seems to be made of corrugated iron ? Or perhaps it was purpose built for them.
All the best,
bakes888 (18499) 2007-08-20 1:13
Hi Wilson. These are a little different to the wild pigs we have here, no vet would get close to our ones. Great photo. These pigs look veery relaxed ;-). Good colour and composition. Thanks for sharing.
UnTrained (0) 2007-08-20 1:36
very close to them so half wild and half not I think. Very fine POV here and excellent moment. It is great to see them lying together. The sharpness and colours are just the right.
Lieben Gruss, Ulf
pboehringer (770) 2007-08-20 8:35
the pigs are at its best, doing what they do best - being lazy. Funny image with a good backdrop of nature. The composition by them laying in frotnt of that tunnel is fantastic giving the impression that this is their hut in the wilderness. Interesting concept of those wild, free roaming animals living in New Forest and being general property.
Burberry1 (6041) 2007-08-20 13:54
A great idea and realisation Wilson!!!
Funny, well captured and nicely shown.
Looks like a scene from the film.
A great, great work.
john_c (24666) 2007-08-20 21:48
Quite a unique shot, even for the New Forest, where there are any number of animal surprises. This is really quite humorous and you caught the slumbering fellows in perfect repose. The one fellow seems to be trying to motivate his fellows (or girlfriends...) The drainpipe is a real bonus here, adding extra interest and contrast. Congrats on this fine capture. Your rooting around paid off...
pablominto (53746) 2007-08-20 22:48
What a funny bunch!
Are they real wild pigs, amazing...
Seems like they lead a great life at least during summer, laidback and relaxed!
Well composed presentation!
Budapestman (82620) 2007-08-21 1:07
Great and funny image, this is a very lazy moment, indeed.
I like the splendid title and the expressive details. POV is excellent, also the composition. Well done! Have a nice week

A nice image of the pigs, the photo has a good composition, sharpness and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
Jeppe (18654) 2007-08-28 11:16
Nice to see those pigs living a "natural" life - The same can be seen some places in Denmark as well - but most of your pigs living in "fabrics"
Wanda1 (15142) 2007-09-01 22:03
This has a childrens story feel about it and reminds me of something from a Beatrix Potter story. Lovely subtle colours, and a wonderful scene with them sleeping. Well composed and captured.
sadeik (3282) 2007-10-17 9:27
Very very good, like the soft effect and the composition is great
JCG (35129) 2007-10-30 1:45
These pigs have the very unhappy air !!! Amusing image of these animals of the farm. I like the image processing. A photo sympathetic nerve and tenderizing, thank you Wilson.
WIth all my friendships and a good night,
