Photographer’s Note
Roses and Castles are the traditional subjects for the the artwork on narrowboats and their equipment. Sadly the watercans and other painted portable paraphernalia of olden times are not often on show these days - too easy to steal!
There is also a tendency for more and more ugly objects to be carried on the roofs of narrowboats, such as bicycles, satellite dishes and TV aerials.
More on canal art can be found here.

Hello, Peter.
A very sharp and clear and very colourful depiction of Canal Art and, because I was not aware of this, your note and its attachments are very interesting and informative.
I'm peering into that doorway to see if I can see any details but I can't. Some old duffer (like me) sitting in there puffing a pipe might just have added a little more interest!
A very nice picture.
Best Wishes,
John.
