Photographer’s Note
North of the River Avon at Bradford-on-Avon, the houses are built on the side of a steep hill. Most of them can only be reached by climbing a series of steps, which link the levels known as ranks. There is no access for cars.
Taken as RAW: converted in FastStone to TIFF, and final PP in PS 7.
1/52sec: F4: ISO 100: 28mm focal length.

Hi Peter,
Looking at the thumbprints of the latest uploads, this photo immediately attracted my attention. After clicking on it I realised why! This is one of your very careful and well planned compositions, the steps, the railing etc, everything seems to be in exactly the right place. Very fine colours and texture. I will refrain from a WS here, simply because there is really nothing I would like to change.
Greetings from hot and sunny Gothenburg

Hello Peter ,
Very good framing and nice colors for this lovely picture . The blue flowers on the dark steps are superb . The stones walls , too . The light seems to be very well captured . A rainy day ?
Congratulations

Hello, Peter.
Wiltshire does indeed seem to have a wealth of beautiful places and photographic opportunities.
This is another superbly sharp and crisp image with fine details in the stonework and lovely colours in the stonework and flowers.
Good composition too - it must have been very difficult with this one to know exactly where to crop it.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.
P.S. I am intruiged by that little opening in the wall at the top of the steps just below the window.

hello Peter,
this is a very attractive composition. There is a nice light that shows of the colours and textures of stone and flowers. I like the contrast here too, between betwwen nature and man made.

Hello Peter,
I like this very much where the two strong verticals make natural frames and channel the eyes up the stone stairs.
Excellent exposure, and the details, of colour and texture, of the stone work is very good indeed. I like how the blue flowers soften the edges and prevent it from being too angular.
A beautifully composed shot, my friend.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your warm comments on a 'A Shapely Bridge'.
