Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken in one of the the Shopping Arcades in the Victorian Quarter of Leeds, where coffee can be enjoyed alongside some beautifully dressed shop windows. The Manhattan theme of this mens outfitters adds an extra dimension to the conversation of two local women.

Maggie,
This just goes to show how facades fool us.
Whether the women were talking about the skyline or just enjoying their coffee's I am not sure. But certainly this picture here in Leeds is curious in the extreme that it could so be so many miles away. I guess that's what the set designers wanted; for Men to buy into that Manhattan panache, and hand over their money for a sleek tie and shirt.

A shot that looks like it was taken from the 5th floor, but probably all is at ground level. It asks as many question as the answers it produces.

.. and I would add a view that gives the impression you are at the top of a skyscraper. Very nice effect, and the capture as a whole is lively with very good POV and bright colors

I like this very unusual sight of these two women who eat in Leeds, but under Manhattan and in a luxury store.
It is the completely delirious and surrealist sight which I like very much. At the same time, it is full of humanity, as all your photos.

Hello Maggie,
I regret a bit the light lack of focus on the woman's face, because she moved and you were at 1/30 but I like very much the whole set. It' very well seen, makes for an interesting composition, with lovely colors, a little moment of leisure with a great view:-).

Hello Maggie. What is reality? Sometimes everything comes in disorder. But for the viewer of the photo this circumstance is interesting. Only the two women do not let themselves be impressed of the fantastic scenery. A beautiful photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

I love these type of snatched daily life scenes. The black & white of Manhattan works as a goof foil to the women. The doorway with coloured ties assists the compo because of the thirds thingy.
