An expertly framed minimalist composition. Black and white is ideal to bring out the graphical lines of the boat against that lovely sky with its wispy clouds. The image has a fine range of tones and excellent sharpness. Sophisticated photography indeed, really like it.

This is an excellent photo, with a great POV, leaving out everything not interesting, and with a sky that´s pale but alive. I like it a lot!

THere is art in it !

Interesting to see a b&w version of previous similar uploads of a tilted single boat from a low shooting angle. It gives an entirely different mood to the color versions. Good sharpness and tonal range with excellent density and lighting contrasts that enhance the graphism. Tfs!

hello Brian, another nice work with such boats. It reminds me one of your previous in colour version. Here we found some difference with that, like the poles in the boat... They add nice graphism. Great idea to present it in monochrome. Excellent shot. Nicely done. Tfs.

Beautiful boat, original POV, great clarity, nice idea to show it in BW, beautiful presentation, it looks like an old photo taken about 50 years ago :)))

Hello Brian - I have just compared this B&W to the 'similar' colour postings. To my mind, this one works best. I know B&W is not always appreciated on TE and this may not get the applause I feel it deserves but I do like the simplicity of the minimal composition and well managed tonal range. The strong shape of the boat and the graphic lines of the flags are beautifully presented against a delicately detailed sky. All in all a finely balanced and managed shot and especially nice to see some originality on the site. Warm regards Rosemary

Je préfère tes versions couleur mais ce noir et blanc est quand même très réussi et la photo de très belle qualité.

Hi again Brian
Another of your low POV boat shots, this time in monochrome and what a good idea it was! I admire the detail and tonal qualities and the composition, as always, is spot on.
Have a nice day
