Sun through the trees in Guessgate Wood near the village of Steyning in West Sussex, England.
There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.
The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

That is a fantastic shot with lots of WOW factor! The light beams penetrating the innumerable trees look heavenly. Truly spectacular scene so well captured by your lens. Thanks for sharing an excellent shot with magical light and rich clarity.

A lovely and apposite poem to accompany this atmospheric composition. Ideally exposed and benefiting from a most beautiful and indeed magical light. The sun kissed shrubs in the foreground make a very pretty contrasting frame. Sophisticated photography.

Une belle photo de cette nature avec le soleil qui pointe son nez au milieu des arbres.
Amitiés et bonne journée.

Dreamy forest landscape with the sunbeanms crossing the vertical lines of the trees, the magic here has been well recorded. I like it when this effect comes together so well. The light through the tress is well captured and gives a good sense of depth as well as direction. Congratulations on a superb shot.

Yes this is a real keeper this one! Of course it's the light rays spearing through the trees that make this work so well. Good exposure under difficult circumstances. You've probably saturated it a tad more than I would have done, but we've been there before!

la luce è magnifica e l'hai gestita in manierea superba.
Splendida sia come soggetto che come composizione, colori e particolarità dell'illuminazione.

Hello Brian - I would love to have a shot like this one in my gallery, I just love the way the light pierces through the trees in a star burst. Your image is beautiful, evocative and romantic. The forest breathes! Warm regards Rosemary

La lumière s'insère de très jolie façon entre les troncs d'arbres et crée un très bel effet. Jolie photo!

an image full of mystery.
The way you utilized the light here to create so unique mood of the scene is just brilliant and we get to see really beautiful and moody composition.

How's it going B? My, this is quite heavenly...what an amazing capture! This must have been some kind of divine inspiration to be here at just the right time...but something tells me you're more of the devilish type?? :) You must have been living right for a tad anyway, because this is truly gorgeous...someone was smiling down upon you for this shot!
Such a neat effect, the sunbeams exploding through the trees, but in a subtle way to induce a more calm and pleasant atmosphere...and more importantly for the technical side, it's kept the detail and highlights in tact. This is not just your average walk in the park, what a doozie!
Take it easy mate. Cheers from the only hot spot left in the U.S.,
Hope you're staying warm and dry, sounds like your side of the Atlantic hasn't been too much better!?

An interesting note and a gorgeous photograph of bright autumn sunlight streaming through trees!
The light and colours are delightful and you have managed this wonderfully contrasty shot with very little, if any, evidence of lens flare - something which always seems to plague me when I attempt any contre jour shots like this. You have also managed the contrast very well indeed as I can see full details the the deepest shadows and also in the brightest parts of the image.

Beautiful and magical! You got perfect detail in foreground, we can see clearly the plants and the trunks of the trees. The sun beams passing through the trees make it magical. A very good shot!

Amazing light and you capture it so well. The trees create a pattern which contrasts nicely with the sun rays.
Have a lovely weekend

Good idea of shot to give an original point of view on a forest. Moreover, it allowed to play with sunrays adding a graphic element in the composition.
