Iconic title of the 1965 Simon & Garfunkel UK hit. A song that deals with isolation and emotional detachment which I suppose you could say epitomises this view on the beach at Shoreham-by-sea in West Sussex, England - just sun, sand, sea, flowers and pebbles. Bliss - perhaps………..

This beach resembles an artificial, landscaped garden with the planted rock, the lovely array of flowers and the colourful pebbles. The clarity of the blue sky adds vibrance to the scene. A beautiful image full of charm.

I love the colours, the layers in the image and that big anchor of a rock. Its not a solitary rock though. Something to contemplate perhaps.

...I am an Island...
Indeed - given your note it could also be The Reveries of the Solitary Photographer (allusions to Jean Jacques Rousseau)!
I prefer your warmth and colours that increase my serotonin levels rather than the winter's day of a deep dark December as described Simon and Garfunkel.
Another great composition.

Lovely image that shouts summer (even though it was taken two weeks before it starts). Great composition, well selected subject and suitable title! :)
Have a nice evening

Would you look at this rock of a rock, surrounded by pebbles...it's a man among boys! Just to be an antagonist, I'm going contrary to your note...this big fella' is enveloped by loved ones, full of life and a closeness to his surroundings. There, how's that for being stupidly annoying? :)
You sure know how to get the most out of a given setting, this is another beauty from this area, and one which takes it up a notch with the inclusion of the sea in the near distance. Crystal clear and full of textures...just hope you didn't burn up on such a sunny day. lol It may not be my genre, but I can hear "Summer Breeze" (Seals & Crofts) playing over this imagery. Great work cowboy! Have a good one.
Cheers from a ecstatic red, white and blue at the moment,

Ta photo aurait pu faire la couverture du disque!Jolie composition verticale, riche en couleurs et très lumineuse où le beau rocher tient la vedette.
