Topical shot at the moment with unprecedented river levels here in the UK at present. This poor little boat stuck under the road bridge over the River Adur in Shoreham-by-sea, West Sussex, England. Two young guys had a lucky escape as they literally jumped out of this just before it wedged itself under the arch.

well spotted and well captured! It is quite funny especially knowing that nobody got hurt. It is quite impressive that even with quite casual shot you managed to get lucky with light and the colors are very rich and bright.

Nice capture, in the right place at the right time.
It makes you wonder why people risk their lives in such diverse conditions.

Good Morning Brian,
Yes, very topical!
We have had almost unprecedented levels of rain and driving winds!
Yet, somehow, your shot has a tranquillity about it! The water is calm with wonderful reflections of the bridge and its shadows.
A very sharp and well composed shot detailing the results of the 2013-2014 storms.
Hope you are having a lovely day, today, Bev :-)

The water level is so high, a boat is stucked under the bridge. You have every sharp perspective. Captured a funny moment other people maybe ignore.

I know flooding isn't a funny subject as people can get hurt or even die, but i have to say this scene here is sort of funny.
glad to hear the guys got out in time.
all the pieces of the puzzle had to be in perfect alignment for this to happen.
very cool post, and lets hope the flooding recedes sooner than later...or has it already?

Bon sujet d'actualité. Les jeunes ont été bien chanceux. Il ne reste plus qu'à attendre que le niveau de l'eau baisse. Salutations.

A magnificent composition, which is an excellent story of how you can raise the level of a small river, after a heavy storm of rain, perfect quality and textures.
Good sharpness and light, with a nice color.
Have a good day.

although this is another casualty of this terrible weather it does make a fine example of just how high the river rose, luckily no lives were lost and you got a cracking shot.
I wonder where the little boat ended up when the water level dropped..
All the best Les.

Hellooo there B,
My, a little too close for comfort, yeah? Crazy how fast a rising tide can take you for a ride, and not one you want to be stuck on! Very fitting for the current situations unfortunately, but on the bright side, it sure has made for a thought provoking opportunity to relay the rapid pace of change. I'm loving these rustic colors with the splash of green and blue in contrast. And then there's the lighting and textures, this has a nuance of so many little things that come together for a fantastic minimalist image. Stay dry over there, keep on rowing...or get a speed boat! :) Send some of that rain, but keep the cooler temps.
Cheers from the dust bowl,
* So, just what does the dyslexic pimp store in that warehouse of his anyway? ;) Rock on!

Un cliché étonnant! Le bateau est dans une position bien inconfortable et on se demande ce que faisaient ces jeunes gens sur lui avec cette rivière en crue!Beau cadrage et belle lumière.

Interesting detail, I like your original idea. The bridge is very low..or the waters are high? Good image, I love the green around the arcade.

An interesting scene you have discovered here. Well seen and composed based on the graphical layout to achieve really superb visual effect. TFS!
