A receding high tide on the shingle and sandy beach at Shoreham-by-sea, in West Sussex, England. The beach here starts quite steeply, before shelving and the tall groynes stand over smaller ones that can be seen disappearing out to sea.
Regrettably I have found it necessary to add a discrete watermark to my images posted on TE as some have been hi-jacked and are now being used commercially on other websites, without my permission.
I realise it is impossible to stop people sharing images once posted on the internet and I have no real issue with that, it is flattering to know that they like them that much………but to make money from them is another matter and infringes copyright.
My anti-virus software dislikes the forums on TE! So please do not think I am rude if I do not answer any comments or questions raised…………

Hi Brian, you're always one of the most big masters of TE to know and use very low speed shutters, and this is another magnificent and very well done example, whit the silk effect create by the waves on the sand in a minimalistic composition,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Brian - The pull of the receding wave is so apparent here I can sense it dragging at the sand and colourful pebbles. A classic composition, minimal but with plenty of well captured detail. Warm regards from a stinking hot Windhoek Rosemary

This is a stunner!
Love the soft water here (not always...).
Brillinant POV and the colours are terrific.

Ciao e buona serata
chawax (16469) 2013-10-16 11:30
Nice picture ! The elements of the composition are well balanced, the light is nice and the colours are beautiful. But the plus here is the nice long exposure effect on the water.
williewhistler (9829) 2013-10-16 12:17
lovely use of the ND filter, the effect on the water is magical, with the posts providing the lead in and giving the shot a lovely depth it`s a cracking capture.
All the best Les.

just love this "icy" look of the water(at first I though you took the picture in winter).Amazing what a long shutter speed can create.Amazing visual effects we can´t see with our eyes.
Another thing I enjoy here so much is the clash of quite cold blue/grey tones of the water and sky with delightful warm colors of the foreground.
Beautiful and dreamy shot!
macjake (45588) 2013-10-16 21:02
I know this one will be very popular for you!
and for good reason.
I see you brought along the pebbles in your pocket again! haha
love the long shutter speed and how it effects the water on the beach fromt, and the wooden posts are spectacular.
seeing how the wood disappears into the water is so attractive and eye catching. well done all around, its an easy winner!

kasianowak (3474) 2013-10-17 4:00
Lovely light and colours! Blurred water shows conveys the sense of movement really well and I like the contrast between the dark groynes and the rest of the image.
ChrisJ (91238) 2013-10-17 21:02
Looks like the English Riviera and without the crowds and inflated prices! Good slow shutter speed and time exposure with a nice milky effect of the motion blurred waves. The warm cold color contrast between the blue sea and red sandy beach is striking. Tfs!
delpeoples (48582) 2013-10-19 3:35
Hi dear Brian
Ooh this one's a winner for me. The misted water, the line of the wooden groynes and the richly textured sand have been captured to artistically. A stunning shot, in your usual artistic style and high quality.
Warmest wishes, happy weekend
Cricri (92123) 2013-10-19 12:33
C'est magnifique, j'aime ce genre de composition, la lumière et les couleurs sont splendides, mais ça c'est pas nouveau chez vous, c'est toujours réussi, bravo
annjackman (15525) 2013-10-20 2:31
I like the strong leading line and the way that the posts disappear under the water. The 15 sec exposure was just perfect to create the silky water effect. Pin sharp pebbles on the beach and lovely colours.
Kind Regards, Ann
