Hi Brian, this poppy fields seems endless. Fantastic view. I always wonder, is it a weed? it looks gorgeous, of course, but what is the goal of it?

Great contrast of colour and texture here making full use of the negative space of the sky. Clear and sharp from front to back as always and the colour saturation is just right.

Wonderful to see all these beautiful poppies; I don't remember seeing fields like this when we lived in the UK. A nicely lit image with superb colours and clarity.

simple and beautiful. The colour tone is superb. Red-blue contrast is nice. I like the framing you done, probably horizontal framing would not work with it. Tfs such pleasing view for eyes.

speedymanu (3485) 2013-07-19 4:19
a minimalist and colorful composition. The symmetrical composition reinforces the complementary of the colors and the depth of your image. A splenedid evocation of a warm sunny day.
Have a nice day,

Hello Brian ,
This picture has something special , because you don't follow the "rule of thirds" . And why not ! The contrast between the green and red field , and the perfect blue sky is striking .
Simple , but amazing .

Cutting your picture in half with the horizon is just so bold and innovative. Only a good photographer could get away with this. It appears as a piece of art with that wonderful graduated blue sky and the sea of red poppies. Stunning clarity and an excellent level of saturation.
Best wishes, Ann
p.s. we were in a glorious poppy field in Norfolk last week but haven't had a chance yet to view the images. I found it very hard to be original and perhaps that is why I appreciate your picture so much.

Glad to see you're making the most of the summer! The clear blue sky works very well in this image. Great composition and crop - I really like the way you divided the frame.
Have a great weekend

This is a stunning photograph which owes a lot of its impact and beauty to its remarkably simple composition - a field brimming with scarlet poppies and a clear blue sky - nothing more. And absolutely nothing more is required!
Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite depth of field and sharpness. You have done very well to maintain such remarkable detail in the reds of the poppies - so often I find that all detail tends easily to be lost in such areas of vibrant reds.

This must be the ultimate picture of a field of poppies; just the red flowers beneath the blue sky and a very distinct lint between these two parts. Beautiful!
krzychu30 (14378) 2013-07-19 9:59

Great! A sea of poppies, you have captured this field from a low POV and any tree on the horizon does not disturb the view, compliments

Wow! What an outstanding nature presentation! Love it! The intensive tones created a superb landscape post. Hope you will share with us many more from that series:)

This is quite amazing for its colours and its sense of depth. Your low pov puts us in close contact with the flowers. A most beautiful experience.
My only suggestion would be to crop half the sky to create thirds composition and it gives an even greater sense of depth. Just a thought!
Have a lovely Sunday,

Here's one to repost in November, Brian. An amazing view, and simple as well, between the poppies and the sky, yet it doesn't feel like it's missing a subject. The rich, smooth sky is a great contrast to the bright, busy lower half. Thanks!

"Reduce and simplify" is one of my goal in photography

The half split is such an awesome idea
