Lifesaver, a photo from West Sussex, England

Photographer's Note

One of the many bright red Lifebelts that line the quayside of the southern edge of the River Adur and Shoreham-by-sea Harbour in West Sussex, England. Also known as a lifesaver, lifebuoy, ring buoy, and lifering, it is designed to be thrown to a person in the water as and aid to buoyancy and to hopefully prevent that person drowning.

Well Brian - If I was drowning at sea, I would want a brilliantly coloured lifebuoy like this one to be thrown to me. With such a vivid colour I would not miss it! An excellent detail shot where the red contrasts attractively with your trademark blue. Warm regards Rosemary

Common and ordinary objects can many times provide good pictures. This lifebelt has indeed a very strong and eye-catching colours that is beautifully combined with the blue sky. A well chosen POV.

Voilà une bouée de secours qui passe certainement inaperçue pour la plupart des gens mais que ton œil de photographe a su exploiter à merveille pour réaliser cette superbe image, lumineuse, graphique et colorée à souhait.

I like this photo with nice vivid colors. The sharpness and clarity is perfect. A well presented tight crop allows eyes to remain fixed on red lifebelt. The excellent light and colors together with nice blue sky also lends a lovely contrast to the scene. Have a nice Sunday.

I like how you've used an object, and a pretty ugly object at that, to produce a creative and effective color arrangement with the bg blues. I have to say the end result is attractive!
