A view East along Shoreham Beach, in West Sussex, England, towards Shoreham Harbour and the City of Brighton. A mid November evening sunset highlighting the green weed on the rocks and warming the colours of the sand still wet from the receding tide.
A re-post of my image of yesterday - having looked at comments on the site I realise that a lot of photographs and critiques disappeared yesterday. Apologies if you commented before - I did read them before they floated off into the ether and as always appreciate your interest.

I commented on this last night, but it disappeared, along with all my other critiques. So apologies if I repeat myself. I like this vertical frame and the vertical striations in the sand. The depth of field is amazing as are your trademark rich colours and sharpness. Beautiful shot.
Have a lovely day

Hi Brian - Not sure If I can remember what I said first time round but I like the small sunlit detail in the LHC which leads nicely into the frame and greater view. The soft winter colours are beautifully contrasted by the rocks and warm red pebbles. I really appreciate the thought that goes into your landscape. Have a good day. Rosemary

An example of composition in wide angle lens inside vertical frame. A good use of the foreground to sit the composition and provide a strong depth feeling.

This TE website is proving to be a real pain at times. I did comment on this one yesterday but it's such a good one that I thought I should write again.
As (I think) I said, your pictures of this area are in wonderful contrast to your photographs of the Greek islands with their indigo skies and vibrant colours but both sets of pictures show remarkable skill and observation.
I have, for a while, had this thought lingering at the back of my mind after looking at your seashore photographs from here and now I know what it is: they remind me of walks as a child with my father along beaches such as this and him pointing out to me how the pebbles become brightly coloured when wetted by the sea. He invariably used to quote the lines from his favourite poet, Rupert Brooke:
Firm sands; the little dulling edge of foam
That browns and dwindles as the wave goes home;
And washen stones, gay for an hour.....
It's from his poem "The Great Lover", not what one might immediately think, but a beautiful poem about his observations on nature and other things which he loved - well worth a read because it really paints some lovely mental pictures and also, I think, demonstrates his powers of observation which, of course, are what we as photographers need to develop to the full. You can read the whole poem here.
Anyway, you and your wonderful 20mm lens have done a fabulous job here. The depth of field is stunning and the composition excellent, the little ripples in the sand at bottom left leading the eye to the lovely weed-covered rocks and onward along the shoreline to the horizon. Gorgeous warm low-level light, perfect exposure, lovely colours and, as ever, exquisite sharpness.

It looks as if you might have got your feet wet, taking this shot!
I like the way you have used the f/g rocks to give that change of shape and that change of textures, which really demands immediate interest from the viewers. The long, low shingly beach adds the colour and produces an interesting lead round to the horizon.
There is just a hint of amber in the sky and on the sea, warming the whole scene. Lovely!
Have a good w/e,

first of all thank you for your extra comment, altogether I got for my last photo from you 4 points :)
Unfortunately I cannot give all your photos the points they really deserve, first of all as I already said, because you are too productive, sharing so many great works here...
This one is another marvel. Very well thought through busy foreground contrasts with the vast empty space opening behind it. Fantastic depth of the field.
Very pleasant soft touches of clouds in the sky nicely complement the composition. Also the palette of the color tones is extraordinary, not only in the sky, I like the reddish tiny rocks in the foreground too.
Very well spotted and as usually perfectly executed.
Have a great weekend,
I am just preparing for my moving to England :)

Beautiful shot with sweet colors and light. Like the POV chosen in short of the rocks and with infinite perspective. That gives a quiet and charmness mood.
