wow! What a moment! Great catch Brian. I love the atmosphere. The cloudy sky. Those colourful huts. Great contrast between them. Excellent exposer management and good depth. Another very good one from you. Tfs.

This photograph gives a stark but beautiful introduction to the extremely wet conditions we have been suffering recently.
You have perfectly captured that curious light which often occurs just before a storm.
A fine photograph from a good, angled viewpoint, separated nicely into thirds with varying colours and textures.
Have a good day,
We had snow last night but today, so far, it is just grey and windy.

Hi Brian, you know how is perfect this moment to take a great pic....eehe....when the sun kiss the ground and the storm is coming, the result is always fantastic, especially in this case with these colorful huts, perfect to contrast the dark sky.Very well done, top class pic! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
willperrett (8017) 2014-02-12 1:28
Pretty impressive sky, helped no doubt by the clever slight under-exposure that you've employed. The splashes of colour across the middle of the frame are the main compositional feature, but that sky commands respect. Unfortunately we've seen far too much of it recently!
yquem46 (38750) 2014-02-12 1:30
What an incredible sky !
And your trademark, the colorful beach cabins in full light
have a nice day, best regards

Hello Brian ,
Dark clouds and stormy light : the best conditions to take pictures of these so picturesque coloured huts . May be you have an horizontal version of teh same subject .

ces belles cabines aux jolies couleurs vives ressortent merveilleusement sur ce ciel chargé de nuages. Une très Superbe composition.
Subhogen (4067) 2014-02-12 2:46
It is strange how you managed that beautiful light under such stormy skies,it is superb though. The colourful beach huts are really photogenic. They present wonderful contrast with the dark sky. Splendid work, thanks for sharing.

Through the colourfully beach homes, get we nice contrast picture with the imminent sky in background
Excellent scene, made in high quality.
Also nice perspective and depth picture.
Excellent composition, very well captured.

you have taken full advantage of that lovely sky to fill the frame full of drama and interest, the contrast against the brightly coloured beach huts works very well indeed.
A cracking shot.
Mid day here and after a horrendous morning the sun has just appeared...
All the best Les.

'Simply wonderful - the sky and the huts, definitely, but the fine stone in the foreground gives this photo a rich complexity. Terrific!
SnapRJW (31625) 2014-02-12 9:01
Hello Brian - Your beach huts images are always special but this one is brilliant. The light across the bright paintwork has added so much 'zing' to the shot and the contrast with the heavy skies is exceptionally beautiful. One of my favourite, if not the favourite, beach hut shots. Accomplished work! Warm regards Rosemary
amaryllis (35599) 2014-02-12 9:31
Ciao e buona serata

The stormy sky adds such a eerie mood in this beach hut scene. They are fantastic in their bright colours.
Nice one, super tall format.
zanzi (13670) 2014-02-12 11:55
Although not from the same kind of place, our shoots tonight convey the same mood.
You managed to add beautiful colors.
I love it.
Gigidusud (17673) 2014-02-12 13:07
Amzing scene on the beach with splendid colourful huts and splendid light. I like the dramatic atmosphere. Well done!
dekanski (4059) 2014-02-12 13:25
Great! One could say almost spectacular color contrast!
krzychu30 (15510) 2014-02-12 13:36
love this one!
From your many shots of these colorful beach huts, this one has not only great graphics, but also so unique mood-here perfectly enhanced by this grey, dramatic sky.
The outcome of your work is truly artistic!

Impressive composition!! Amazing colors, nice contrast, excellent light management.
jcpix (13812) 2014-02-12 15:55
Hey there BD,
Well, looks like our resident beachcomber is at it again...are you sleeping here too? :) For all of your unfortunate weather recently, the dark brooding and ominous skies have worked in your favor here...this is some kind of super contrast!
Even on a bright and sunny day you've shown us how attractive these places are along the beach, but now with the angry weather monster approaching, it takes the mood up a notch and a half! This may sound a bit odd, keep in mind we don't get a good rain that often though, but I would love to hang out under one of these huts and just kick back and watch nature unleash the sky...as long as the wind doesn't blast it right in my face anyway!? (insert your own joke here)
Great repeating patterns and lines to accompany the vibrant colors and lengthy perspective. Now, run for cover! Enjoy the day ahead. Take it easy.
Cheers from sun drenched Az.,

Superbe!
abmdsudi (46220) 2014-02-12 23:39
I love the way you've managed to capture so much valuable detail throughout. Combination of bursting side warm sunlight through the dark threatening moody skies makes all the diff where the eye popping colours add the finishing touch so stunningly lifting the shot to a higher plane. You have developed such a professional eye capturing in a way that seems almost effortless, and pure joy to look at! Congrats
CLODO (31711) 2014-02-13 4:41
Up to date picture with the storms over England for 2 months now, but you were lucky to have a sunray to lit the colorfull beach huts against a dark cloudy sky!
emka (85255) 2014-02-13 23:59
More beach huts :). The sky is so menacing and the huts beautifully lit, probably before storm. And I always like the colourful pebbeles on this beach.
WArm regards MAlgo

I've been thinking about you and all our Brit friends and truly hope you're all ok. These storms sound like Armageddon is night and I hope it abates soon.
The positive point to this is the dramatic skies you've had. Now this is a photo with impact. The colours of the cabins contrast so well with that menacing grey colour, the vertical frame adds to the depth and the textures of the pebbled beach add another dimension to the image.
Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful weekend
tyro (21794) 2014-02-14 3:28
Oh, dear, how depressed all you in the south must all be getting with the constant bad weather and dreadful floods. We in Scotland have generally been pretty well spared but I hope that the recent dreadful weather hasn't affected you too badly, Brian.
This sort of scene is probably not uncommon in this place right now and you have made the very most of the amazing light, those colourful beach huts standing out proudly against the threatening and overcast black sky.
The light and colours are amazing, your composition is both excellent and pleasing and, as always, your sharpness and clarity are second to none.
npecanhuk (69518) 2014-02-15 3:54
Very attractive picture!
Special regards to the contrasting areas of dark & grey and colorful elements (including those little stones I love)!
TFS - congrats,
annjackman (20711) 2014-02-19 1:18
I can't believe that I missed this one. Glorious vibrant colours and, wow, what a sky! I saw a local news item last night about the Hove beach Beach huts are icons of the English seaside so I hope that they get restored.
A superb image.
Kind Regards, Ann
macjake (60642) 2014-02-19 15:32
there you go with your pebbles again! haha
this place surely provides lots of photo opportunities doesn't it!
you do such a wicked job in getting the most out of those rocks, so crisp and sharp and colorful.
and of course the colors of the huts are down right nasty! haha
see you around

Hello Brian - just popping back in after a long absence. Happy to see this one from you, with such great dramatic lighting; the beach huts make for a wonderful and colorful dividing line between the rough, bright pebbles and the deep gray clouds. Thanks, and I hope you've been well!
