View of the dovecote set in the garden wall that surrounds Nymans House at Handcross, West Sussex, England. Nymans is 600 acres of picturesque and landscaped gardens that are now owned by the English National Trust and open to the public. Extensively damaged by fire in 1947 the south east facing side of the house is just a shell, having never been rebuilt.

Good Morning Brian - I see you had blue sky here ;) and with the soft cloud it makes a fine backdrop to the lovely old dovecote.
A well detailed shot with pretty light across the old stones giving the shot good contrast, colour and texture.
I'm sure the doves enjoyed living in such a fine home (probably better than those of the estate workers!)
Have a sunny weekend

nonostante tutto, il luogo sembra ben curato e la tua foto ci mostra queste antiche architetture in modo equilibrato, dosando bene la parte del cielo con le geometrie delle costruzioni.
Un ottimo lavoro.

A perfect capture from Nymans. The colours of the stone wall and dovecote are beautifully warm and all sandwiched perfectly between green grass and a blue sky - lovely!
Kind Regards, Ann

Charming presentation of this interesting old architecture. Like the way you built the composition full of interesting details and vivid tones that make the scene so eye catching. Lovely capture! Like it!

Ciao e buon fine settimana

Suberb warm light illuminates this attractive building and garden. But the missing roof is somewhat unnerving. One just doesn't expect to see the sky there, even tough it is a very attractive sky.
have a great weekend

I love this place, and considering I only learned of it in your gallery a few weeks ago, that's a blossoming relationship to say the least! This is exactly the sort of place I love to roam with my camera in hand, and seeing the shots you have taken is just so impressive. This composition is spot on perfect, the ruin of that wing of the house being composed perfectly to compliment the nice dovecote. I think I may build a dovecote in my garden. I have no use for it, but just to impress the neighbours :) There can never be enough follies in the world!
Thanks as always, a beautiful post.

Belle prise de vue de ce pigeonnier qui s'est bien conservé. J'aime beaucoup la couleur de la pierre. Belles couleurs. Bien fait.

Another beauty here!
This one is all about the lighting and the textures.
love how we cwn see so much detail in the stone work, and if i could get this lighting in all my shots i'd think i'm in heaven :)
Lots of details to enjoy, a classic presentation from you.

You always show good golden colour with sky and green grass colour efficiently. Compsotion is also very good.
dekanski (5976) 2014-04-27 3:53
very nice - good composition, sharp and clear!
Maybe I'm wrong, but the colors (although per se beautiful) seems unnatural. As it's a little too post-processed (for my taste).
Royaldevon (42699) 2014-04-29 1:01
A delightful photograph that is very well composed; the dovecote is strongly placed and makes a great, diagonal link with the standing façade, in the b/g.
As always, the details are pin-sharp and the light, beautiful!
Have a great day,
