You successfully created a sense of mystery here with a low POV, fine contrast and blue but darkened sky. Great light for this kind of shot.
Have a nice weekend

Hello Brian, great photo with this POV and colors.
Only have the feeling that the photo is rotated to the right, like the chimney is fallen now. Maybe you can rotate the image a little counterclockwise?
krzychu30 (15512) 2014-04-04 2:48
I can only agree with Kasia-the scene has really some kind of mystery in itself. But there is much more I like about it.For example the stone walls and pebbles so nicely illuminated by the warm sun and so clear and sharp depicted by you.
Have a nice day

The tight framing suits perfectly with the sun kissed wall on the left making an excellent lead-line toward the ruined façade. Lovely warm light and tones. That attractive sky contributes much to the overall mood of the shot. Superb rendering of the textural detail. An unmistakeable timecapturer presentation.

I like the point of view you choose. The ruins seems to be more "massive", more impressive that way.
The golden light is beautiful.

There are a lot of such ruins in UK and these are places I like to visit, all of them have a very special atmosphere. A great end of day light on this one, it gives golden colours to the stones.
Have a nice week end,

Another picture that really pleased me!
As usual, your saturated colors and playing with light are always excellent photo features!
Sharpness, vertical format, chosen pov and composition are all very good photo qualities here too!
TFS - congrats,

if walls could talk, I wonder if this place would speak of hobbits and wizards and those on quests who stayed over night on their magical journey. Certainly the light you captured here is very magical and combined with the fascinating ruins reminds me if such stories. Very epic shot, you have an amazing talent with light.
all the best
Kamilutka (8107) 2014-04-05 5:58
amazing ruins and the way you captured them brings plenty of charm out of them. The wall taken from this POV looks very interesting and at the first sight it reminded me of some Gaudi architecture :-) The light and the colors have been superbly managed!
Well done! My congratulations!
SnapRJW (31629) 2014-04-06 5:22
Well composed this shot really brings out the lovely textures in the flint walls Brian. There is a moody light across the scene which suits the subject and gives the photograph a quiet drama.
Have a good Sunday

A superb wide angled shot of the ruins bathed in a warm ambient, late afternoon sunlight, that contrasts superbly against the blue sky. The 2 vertical pillars at left add symmetry. Good sharpness & well framed and composed. Nice textural details too. Tfs!

Good evening Brian,
The old ruins appear as painted gold by the late afternoon sun, also light enhanced details upon the old walls, and every stone is perfectly shown.
Went to Google-maps to find this place, half way to Chichester ( know it from something with the Beatles...?).
Fine shot, have a nice weekend,
