Photographer's Note

This is Hartshill Wharf on the Coventry Canal, built around 1867.

The canal system around Coventry formed an important means of transporting stone form the nearby quarries. This stone was used throughout the UK to help build the road networks that eventually replaced the canals as a form of transport.

Enjoy.
