Photographer’s Note

Returning on Treakearth after 2 months of absence can be tricky. Do I still know how to use Gimp? Well, it seems I do.
So let's continue on my challenge to make you discover Coventry city.
This little house is just by the destroyed Cathedral; one of the few remainings from the medieval times as the Blitz of WW2 has destroyed almost everything.
You can imagine how Coventry used to look like and you can guess that the house on the right is rather from the Victorian time.
And for those who are not aware, the difference between a town and a city is that a city has a cathedral. It is not linked with the population or size. Therefore, Coventry is a city.

Hi Estelle,A welcome return,strange little house sandwiched between these buildings reminds me of Dickens london. You managed the contrasty lighting well ,the moss on the roof gives a little colour, i note the absence of a chimney.Thanks Tom.

Je me réjouis de te revoir! C'est maintenant à mon tour d'avoir tellement de boulot que je ne peux guère passer sur TE et encore moins faire de la photo, alors que j'ai posté tous les jours depuis février!

Ici c'est l'Angleterre comme je l'aime. Joli cadrage serré!

A good choice of Old England taste. The light coming from the side enhances the architectural details. Wise composition with the two poles (do they call them like that?) close up.
Interesting note: at school they taught me that a city was bigger than a town. I think there is a link there: in medieval times only the bigger towns could have a cathedral, so they became cities but in modern times they are smaller than other towns.
