I saw the Ryanair site with the prices of flight and in a few minutes, without any thinking, I had the tickets to Liverpool. After that I couldn't change anything. When I was in a plane, I was thinking what a stupid idea it was to go to British Islands in December. What I expect there? But it was in fact great idea! The days are short but everywhere were Christmas markets and it was really magic time. The most beautiful market was in Birmingham near Victoria square. There were food stalls with Polish bigos and pierogi, German franfurters, Spanish paella, Indian samosas, Mexican tacos, fish and chips and much more. Not so bad to be crazy sometimes :).
Enjoy this last week before Christmas!

A fine picture with all these "men in red", serving a lot of food. But a Christmas without the Swedish pickled herring is quite impossible...

No, sometimes being a little bit crazy can be to your advantage! :o)
An interesting note and a lovely colourful picture to accompany it. But that person in the foreground doesn't look as though they are enjoying themselves as much as you were that day!
A very well taken photograph with good light and colours and excellent details considering the very challenging conditions in this food market! A wonderful atmosphere of Christmas too!

How good that you experienced what we call 'The International Markets' which occur in big cities all over the country before Christmas. I went to the one in Manchester which was so crowded, it was difficult to get to the various stalls!.
You really have captured the mood, here, the festive attire and the steam as hot foods are cooked in the cold temperatures. Fine angled composition.
Have a lovely day,

A lively capture of these wannabe Father Christmases. The rising steam from the food is whetting my appetite!

Ils doivent avoir très hâte de se débarrasser de leur déguisement à la fin de la journée car ils doivent sentir un petit peu l'odeur des aliments qui cuisent.La composition est soignée et tu as très bien géré la lumière et la vapeur.

Glad you did an impromptu flight to London to create this candid Santas cooking image.
I believe Xmas is too commercialized but can appreciate good food and interesting images.
Best wishes for wonderful holiday season,
PS: The American Western still pops up though less frequently than the golden era. I am looking forward to watching The Lone Ranger dvd soon. Too many critiques whine that modern westerns are not the same as "the good old ones". I personally like more complicated plots and realistic drama...

Steaming hot, Christmas red, close to action shot. You really found the essence Christmas markets here. German Chistmas markets are more familiar to me, but I can imagine the basic idea is the same.

la foto parla chiaro, la gastronomia è padrona delle feste natalizie e tu ci sei capitata nel mezzo.
Hai ragione, un po' di pazzia non è così male...

But posting this capture of the Santas so absorbed in food the nagic has gone for sure
I like the sooo terrenal scene and the steam everywhere

i love your note, malgo ~
you give a good idea of the rewards of having an impulsive sense of adventure, which i admire greatly.
this looks like a glimpse into santa's kitchen with perhaps not the happiest of busy elves, but what can you expect only a few days before christmas. the pressures must be enormous ;)

As you say sometimes its nice to be so spontaneous, and you did indeed see and capture some wonderful sights! This is very cool, and it doesnt look like England. For some reason, the scene here conjures up images of markets in the far east, perhaps because these are somewhat rare in Ireland and I am more used to seeing them from the east. Either way, its a beautiful christmas shot, the santa hats and the steam rising give this a warm fuzzy feel.
thanks as always

I like this scene very much! the steam (and, maybe, smoke?) add a touch of mystery to this photo. And, in my opinion, the composition & POV are excellent!
To me, this picture looks a little bit like a painting... don't know why .. maybe because of that steam/smoke?:)
but what makes me wonder is that the people are too serious.. or too concentrated, worried about something? (just an observation)
Warmest greetings to you from Stockholm!
MERRY CHRISTMAS :))
