Victoria Square is a pedestrianised public square in Birmingham, England. It is home to both the Town Hall and the Council House, and directly adjacent to Chamberlain Square.
The square was formerly known as Council House Square, and had a tramway running through it. It was renamed on 10 January 1901, to honour Queen Victoria, and a statue of her was erected and unveiled. She died just 12 days later.
Part of the square was once occupied by Christ Church (built 1805–13), but the church was demolished in 1899. The font, bell and foundation stone were moved to the new St Agatha's, Sparkbrook, which was built with the proceeds when the site was sold to developers. The 600 bodies, which included John Baskerville, housed in the catacombs beneath the church were moved to Warstone Lane Cemetery.
This is postcard shot but this nice square was not shown here on TE and see what the weather I have in England in December! I enjoy my crazy trip, everywhere is already Christmas atmophere, with Christmas markets. This in Birmingham I like most.

Buon proseguimento e buon divertimento

Excellent view of Birmingham Council House. Very well framed in panoramic landscape format. The light is very good, the contrast against blue sky superb. Well done.

A great capture of this Victorian masterpiece. The Christmas market makes an excellent frame for the grandiose architecture in the background. The clear blue sky contrasts nicely with the golden/yellow tones of the architecture. Clarity is very good indeed.

Do zobaczenia jutro.

I had no idea Birmingham had such imposing architecture! The Swiss chalet is particularly pleasing! But I hope to end my days never having been there. Too far from the sea, and too big.

Hi Malgorzata, A nice capture of this great architecture of Victoria Square in Birmingham, England.
Nice use of lights with good panoramic view. The market in the front looks very busy. The image tilted a bit but it can be corrected by PP work. Thank for sharing
