This is an abstract detail from the new Birmingham Library building facade. I have been wanting to take shots of this for some time but until recently it was surrounded by security fencing whilst work carried on. Gladly it is now finished and I believe the Queen is visiting to officially open the new building this week.

Good work on the composition of this shot, really you found what is graphic with this selection.
Hopefully, you described what it is, I would have not guessed.

another very graphical photograph. Admire your eyes, they look something more. Excellent sharpness and very good depth with f/14. An artistic one. Tfs.

abstraction in its purest form!Just love these repeated patterns created by this steel element of the Library.
Expressive and really eye-catching composition!

Perhaps it sounds some strange but this row reminded me the centrifuge uranium-enrichment process. ;)
But it was only my first idea, then I see there is just an abstract details. Amazing pattern, well seen! Excellent DoF, good colors and shadows. TFS!

Without your note I would never know what your picture shows, this is indeed a very nice abstract picture.
Also the perspective makes these picture very attractive.
Excellent composition, lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Abstract is the word, I looked at the thumbnail and was convinced this was a scene from an industrial plant, a factory perhaps. Very nice piece of work, and a very unusual sight.
All the best

questa composizione è veramente stupenda e si fa ammirare sia per le forme che anche per la quasi totale monocromia.
Hai trovato un ottimo soggetto e lo hai saputo trasformare in maniera eccellente per farne un bel motivo grafico.
Ciao e buona serata

You have produced a really striking image here. The composition is well chosen, with excellent combination of light and shadows and great sharpness. The geometrical pattern makes the frame eye-catching.TFS.

Quite stunning abstract details with effective repetition. It's fascinating to see how brightness values of details on the right are almost oppposite to what's on the left. Did you use some special trick to get that red noise near the bottom?

A very beautiful picture of this very abstract façade details. It does not really matter what this is, the beauty of the picture is still very strong and present. You must have a good eye for such details. Excellent!

An amusing title and a very attractive composition. You detected a fine pattern in the facade and used the light well to underline the graphic qualities of the design.

your wise choice of point of view gave this a great deal of graphic impact. Very successful if you ask me. Just one thing that seems strange to me is the tiny red dots in the foreground. Is that rust? Looks like noise... I dunno exactly but the rendering seems odd to me....
PS: almost forgot...Great title! I love Neil young!

Almost looks like an ornate fence in and of itself, Mike, rather than something just freed from one. Nice graphical take, the repeating forms work well as does the slightly off-center approach.
Glad the Queen is popping by - she's not really slowing down at all, huh? Victoria better watch her back...

Another lovely artwork made by your rich imagination. Well done, I like the idea.

Stunning!! Admire your creativity in turning everyday subjects into something special, artistic and strong abstract effect and obviously well thought out and processed. It is the glossy contrasting repeat shapes, and lines that caught the eyes with impressive crop and good use of dof. Another find observation, Congrats.
