Photographer’s Note
I had to fend off a group of over-active and moving towards the aggressive youths to take this - it's shot from a walkway above the main road running around the Bull Ring in Birmingham - I loved the way the coloured light illuminated the scene and waited patiently for various passers by to enter my frame- this is one of a few I liked.
The young guys ......pffff! Sometimes an older head gets you out of trouble! ......and perhaps sometimes gets you into trouble in the first place!
A black and white version is in the workshop - maybe I prefer that to the colour the way it is represented on screen.

this version is much better for sure grandpa... some sort of an orgy of the colours, light and shadows... even the postorgasm cigarette is there, lol>:D...

quite good in B&W
indeed the contrast suits to the B&W
color version is great because of the various and almost surprising colors

Hey Kev,
Nice take! Mostly I like the pose of the lady - nonchalant (like a commercial for smoking). The lighting here sure adds the atmosphere of urban typical lighting, this is why I prefer this one over the B&W...
TFS!

Hello Kevin,
It was well worth you waiting for this one. Quite a corker! So many graphical elements, fitting together so well; not to mention the different light temperatures. A colourful balance, the b&w really doesn't grab me like this shot does. A case of wysiwyg!
Glad you humoured the trouble makers :)

Hi Kev.
Fantastic picture. The b/w works just as well. But that shows the strength of the composition, with the lines, angles and shadows, and the beautiful placement of the smoking woman - worth waiting for. Sharp and pretty noise-free. It's a blinder.
Regards,
Andrew

I like the feeling of the girl and the bus being joined, which makes me think about where she is going to and where she has been. Also the contrast of the lighting of the bus, and the more harsh lighting of the stairs work well together.
