Photographer’s Note
Taken on a very misty, rainy, cold and horrible day at Warwick Castle from around 120 feet up. I believe the part shown here was built in 1068 although there was an earthern rampant on the site from around 914. If you like castles check out the website because it's an interesting one.
I could have done a better job of framing this but I was hanging over the edge of a turret trying not to fall to my death at the time.

Hello Catherine,
What a magnificent view of Warwick Castle! Technically the photograph is first rate -- well conceived and executed. The composition, color, exposure are all very good. For me there is the added appeal of the site, because I was a member of the Department of Theoretical Physics at Oxford, and frequently on weekend trips would explore the area around Oxford -- the Cottswolds to the West, Warwick, Stafford, and Coventy to the North.
Many thanks for reviving for me memories of that beatiful corner of England. If you have a chance, visit http://www.bulentatalay.com and navigate to 'About the Author." Also navigate to "Atalay Gallery," and see lithographs that I had created in this area.
Regards from Virginia,
Bulent

What a wonderful almost mythic scene. I can't imagine a more perfect background for this castle other than fog. I think the way those big trees continue on into the background really helps the depth and scale of the image as well.
take care.

Hi Katherine,
I think this frame is good. It let us to discover where is placed, and it's well surrounded by the vegetation and the trees. I love mainly the ambiance, the gray light, the black light coming from the clouds. It's a difficult light, but I think you has managed it very well! Congratulations!
Angel.
