Photographer’s Note
After four weeks in the U.K. I have returned with some photographs. This was taken on rather a dull day, hence the grey skies. This part of the castle was built in 1068 on the orders of William the Conqueror and was a good vantage point from which to view the surrounding countryside. The castle itself is quite large and a good state of repair. I was there during the "Horrible Happenings" week, and saw several re-enactments of archery and swordplay.

Maybe it's a funny thing to comment on, but that green lawn is really nice.

Welcome back Joan , well a place I know well you have captured in without the hoards of tourists in shot, which is very lucky , I belive this is the earliest part of the castle , on the knoll .
The weather has'nt helped with the shot regarding the sky, and would suggest a crop to person on left with blue jeans as he is a distraction, look forward to more.
