Photographer’s Note
Another example of work on board Statsraad Lehmkul in 1993, here for unqualified people: a young trainee is making a "baggy wrinkle" (used to garnish the rigging to avoid tear and wear of the sails). She knots buckles of old ropes, torn apart, to two lengths of wires. The resulting "furry line" is then rolled around the rope, so as to protect any sail nearby from the wearing of the rope. You can see examples here and there on tall ships pictures (including mine, of course).
I am getting a bit technical in nautical terms not so familiar to me in English, but I like the picture, and besides I knew the person here (Victoire, a French girl).

It is a great documentary shot of work in a sailing boat. I believe there are always lots of things to be repaired/done. It is also good to see up-dated rescue/safety equipment on board.
