I love these shores, I find them exhilarating and make me want to embrace life and all it has to offer.
Iken is one of those fabulous spots that some people think of as their favourite Suffolk place. Others come across it by accident, as if it were a happy secret. And there must be many people, I suppose, who do not even know that it exists. The little thatched church on its mound jutting out into the wide River Alde is part of the panoply of Suffolk mysticism, an element in an ancient story of the birth of England, of grey mists and sad, crying wading birds swinging low over the mudflats, as if this were a piece of Benjamin Britten's chamber music made flesh. As you may guess, it is a place about which it is easy to wax lyrical. Info, Suffolk Churches.

I am afraid I have never heard of this delightful spot but I assume that it cannot be that far from Aldeburgh, somewhere I do know. Your composition certainly has a magical air about it, helped by the lovely soft light. The composition is excellent and the colours natural and agreeable. I like very much the wonderful feeling of openness.

Hello Iain - This shot deserves to be viewed in the larger version where the details can be fully appreciated. I love the quiet secluded atmosphere you have captured here and can imagine that this is a wonderful spot just to sit and think. The little church is a fine detail in the wider landscape. A shot very much to my taste. Warm regards Rosemary

this place is really lovely and its peaceful atmosphere is very pleasing. I like very much the depth of this panoramic view, the way you have placed the shady shore and the pier in the foreground, the sense of tranquility and freedom all over. The light and the natural colours, that retain their definition despite the distance, are very agreeable too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

It is the simplicity of the shot that appeals to me. The small wooden pier that is gently lit anchors the composition very well and takes my eye to the smaller detail of the village in the BG.
Kind Regards, Ann
