[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken on a walk around the JCB lake at their headquarters near Denstone. A few seconds before this photograph was taken the more dominant duck was almost on the back of the other male forcing him under water. At this point he was trying to climb out of the lake, though the other duck actually had a hold on the back of his neck. He flew off once he was actually on-land. I assume this was a fight to defend a territory on the lake, there were no females nearby at the time of the photograph.
There wasn't much time for composition - I was trying to capture the aggression of the moment.

Yeah, they are always so kind to each others!
Regarding your note:
"I love taking photos but not necessarily good ones" Good ones what it means varies from one person to another.

Very good capture of these two males having it out, great colours and much splashing ;-). It's that time of the year, they form territories, fight over the females etc, and it's sometimes quite funny watching.

You caught the moment very well! Colours are wonderful.

Linda
Read your note on comments, and now have a look at yours - no secret why I look at the birdies! What is important in the picture - the subject. What else is in the picture? Does it add or subtract from the subject? What is not in the picture. If I add it, will it improve my picture. These are questions always on my mind when I shoot and look at pictures, and then I draw from experience. So, to give a comment is nothing sinester or bad, and anyone is capable of doing so.
Now, some suggestions for you here. Firstly, what is good? You nailed two drakes in a teritorial dispute, wich is good, the splashing water adds to the impact and the lovely blue on the primaries are exposed. All this draws the eye towards the subject. Now, what can we do to maybe enhance the picture? And this is where subjectivity comes in, this is how I see it, and you may differ and have all the right in the world to differ from me. I will loose a bit of the rock below the mallards, and add some space to the top and the right of them. You just crop bigger than your frame, and use the clone stamp to add in the same tone of water and rock, and then you have a picture that is nicely composed with good impact too.

Well caught moment in time, and the colours are lovely. Nice sharp details and texture ofo the rocks and the water. Nice work!

Full of movement and action here! What a great capture. I would crop a little bit tighter to focus more on the action.
