Photographer’s Note
According to the Official Wells Cathedral website, Vicar's close is the oldest continually inhabited street in Europe. It was originally built for the choir and those who work in the cathedral.
It is heavily protected from any development meaning it looks very similar to the way it would have appeared in 1363 when it was first built.
As a resident of Wells I was able to pick a lovely clear day to go and take this photograph and was lucky enough to avoid the tourists who usually occupy the road.
No post-production work has been done on this picture.

Hi John
Welcome to TE. I great simple shot. The repetition and diminishing perspective of the chimneys lead the eye well. It's staggering to think of this street, barely changed for over 600 years ago! Good Work

Hello John,
Lovely photo, The chimney,s make it special in the way you caught them all lined up, on parade so to speak. Nice colour tones and focus.
Good composition.
Thanks for sharing your street.
Regards Rob.
