Hello Everyone,

This is a shot from our get-together in Church Stretton. I know others have posted very similar shots but I promised this one for Ike (ikeharel) who quizzed me about the wild flower area at Stokesay Castle.

Here, you can see the attractive, half timbered gate house for Stokesay Castle and, before it, the pretty garden which edged the lawn.

My previous shot has an Internet link to information about Stokesay Castle, for anyone who may be interested.

Hello Bev,
A beautiful and charming scene. It is very effective the way you have placed the cottage with the edge of the wildflower garden leading in and the colour saturation, sharpness and detail are spot on.

Ah, ha, I think I've seen this view before somewhere! But it's a fine view of the Stokesay Castle gatehouse with the splendour of those lovely flowers dominating the foreground.

Very well composed and with lovely colours, perfect exposure (that sky is just so more interesting than it appeared on the day - I'm not quite sure how you achieve that) and excellent details and sharpness.

Fond memories! This most photogenic of buildings has been beautifully captured by you in between downpours: you've even found some blue sky. The foreground is of course gorgeous. Do I detect a slight leftwards lean on your gatehouse?? Good work.

As already I wrote, this is most enjoyable scenery on rural country.
You managed to place the house as a lovely backdrop to yet a beautiful flowers garden in FG.
The old wooden house by itself is most impressive, "popping" out from the field.

so tell me, is this the chocolate box photo's that i often hear people talking about from the UK?
we don't have such 'chocolate box' styles, but maybe we just call them something else?

what exactly is this style anyways?

as for the photo, i can clearly see why you would want to capture the scene. full of pretty flowers, large clouds, charming home and all included by a rainbow of colors.

looks a like a painting).
Point of view and composition are great: it
