Photographer’s Note
This used to be my playground
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need
Of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say
Dont look back
Keep your head held high
Dont ask them why
Because life is short
And before you know
Youre feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Dont hold on to the past
Well thats too much to ask
Live and learn
Well the years they flew
And we never knew
We were foolish then
We would never tire
And that little fire
Is still alive in me
It will never go away
Cant say goodbye to yesterday
No regrets
But I wish that you
Were here with me
Well then theres hope yet
I can see your face
In our secret place
Youre not just a memory
Say goodbye to yesterday
Those are words Ill never say
This used to be my playground
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy
This used to be our playground
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
I wish you were standing here with me
This used to be our playground
This used to be our great escape
This used to be the place we ran to
This used to be our secret hiding place
This used to be our playground
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
The best things in life are always free
Wishing you were here with me

Hi Nina
The good old England.
The sepia tone was well chosen. It adds to the ambiance.
What I miss for not knowing Oxford.

Hey Nina,
Attractive buildings, you have put them into a photo well. Sepia is appropriate. The washed out sky actually makes this photo look a bit archaic. Thanks for sharing.
See you round

Hello Nina,
What a change a layer of sepia can do. This looks like straight from the 1890's, and yet it's from last year. A clever idea of yours. I did the same trick with a scan of picture from Yemen, where I just couldn't get the right colour and realized sepia was the solution.

Gert

Dear Nina,
in my highschool days, I used to be on the roof and waste easygoing time there. sometimes I fall asleep to forget to attend the lecture in afternnon...
the roof in your shot looks triangle, not fits for a nap...
very calm composition and the old air of colors.
thank you,
AKihisa

I like the sepia treatment here. Reminds me a bit of my hood as kid as well. Works even better with the types of architecture.

I'm in Oxford now, and I love this photo. A lot has changed here, but some corners always stays the same - this photo could have been taken 50 years ago, 100 years ago, 150 years ago, and you couldn't even tell.
