The Boat in the fg is called "Me Too".. The Canal is the Oxford Canal and that magnificent tree in the back ground - is THE OAK all based in a Village in the Oxfordshire countryside called Cropredy Me Too is constantly moored in this section of the canal,, sometimes it is moved .. It is believed to belong to the occupant of the Lock keepers cottage.. ..

Canal boats - or the more correct term is " Narrow Boats" (and sometimers incorrectly called long boats)are today mainly used for liesure.. with over 2200 miles of canals in the UK. These were built by hand over twoo hundred years ago. Then of course they played a major a role in the Industrial revolution before the invent of trains and road transportation.
