This is the same room as my previous uploadings on Workshop. It's the only room with furniture, so I just gave a all round shots. I was interested in the photo of Jimi Hendrix on the wall.. I wondered the relation between his music and 60's unmarried mothers, how many female Jimi Hendrix fans then?... I'll upload the further right and opposite view on workshop, see if you can spot any items on display were not 60's. Some visitors said the National Trust got some items wrong...:-). Thanks for looking.

wonderful series of photos from Workhouse. Regrading "...see if you can spot any items on display were not 60's." - depends on where you lived in the 60's, here it would be 70's!

Quite a nostalgic look at the past.
I can't see anything incongruous with the 60's except, maybe, the sequined clothes.
I love the rack above the fireplace for drying the clothes. It was a useful item! You can easily appreciate how very basic things were in the 60's. No sign of any electronic items!

These are three very interesting photos showing life in the workhouse. It was not so long ago but it's still obvious that a lot of time has passed since people lived this way. For instance, my ears have already completely recovered since I was at a Jimi Hendrix concert in 1967, sitting a few metres from his amplifier ;-).
I have enjoyed all these three photos very much. Have a nice weekend.

Nothing looks out of place to me in this well presented shot. Jimi Hendrix was very big for a while in the sixties and you might expect to see his picture in a home for unmarried mums.

a scene reminiscent of the time with many items instantly recognisable.
You did very well to capture them all as clearly as you did.

This is a clean and uncluttered view of the workhouse kitchen indeed. It reminds me a lot of my mother in law's kitchen on the farm in Finland. Especially the checkered floor and the rack with the hanging clothes are so familiar to me.
Have a great weekend

Unusual but also a very interesting picture. Learning more of the world is only possible if we look outside but also inside to unexpected observations. Well done.
