Photographer’s Note
I don't know how many of you out there are drummers - I helped set up and performed in a samba band years ago and have long slapped a djembe for my own pleasure and relaxation......and jammed along with all sorts of people......but........that was a slow stroll through the park in comparison to the mountains (for me) that this man climbed through his playing - the speed, power and energy of his work was astounding and a performer through and through.
Dulsori - traditional Korean drummers and festival makers.
Given the warmth of this shot it's hard to imagine the conditions I was in to shoot it - wearing two pairs of gloves between shooting, a thick hat and multi layers with the snow coming in from behind and hands still too cold to change cards or batteries after a couple of hours - right up against the stage edge dodging the monitor boxes and other stage impediments and the press photographers - but I knew what i wanted the minute I saw him performing...........

The moment is excellent, his expression beautiful.
But something disturbe me in your central composition (sometimes, it's not a problem) and in this red concert light...
Best regards. Grazyna.

Hi Kev,
That was well worth the effort to get in position and deal with the cold conditions to get this one. Well done.

Hi Kevin,
You certainly caught the action and emotion here.
One can sense the power and adrenalin as he grimaces and bangs the drums.
Nice work - Casper

Hi Kev,
Looks like a set of a bad Asian kung fu movie with in the background this scene playing the music on which the fight is going on :-).
Reading your note I do see that that's not the case hahaha.
Greetings,

I don't know if it's the reduced color pallet or the graphic feel of the editing, but this one reminds me one of those old posters from the communist era. That large red circle perfectly framing the drummer certainly plays a big role on my feelings. Great action shot!
