This is part of the remains of the priory at Tynemouth. It stands on the cliff, facing the sea, high above the town.
There is enough of the building to be able to appreciate the variety of attractive windows and traces of arched decoration on the upper walls.
It is difficult to take shots of this area without including some of the interesting gravestones, many recording people who have lived in the priory.
Have a great day,

my sort of place this. I love old ruined priories and churches, they are such great subjects and if you can be there alone, so atmospheric and inspiring. This is a superbly chosen POV and execution that gives us a real idea of its presence and sad beauty. Wonderful!

Northumberland is not a place that we have visited that much, involving as it did a rather lengthy journey from where we lived in South-East England. Even less likely to get there now:-) So your photos from this area are very pleasing and interesting. I like this cleverly framed composition using the gravestones as markers to direct the viewer toward the remains of the ruined priory. The tight framing also works very well. Very good light and colours and excellent rendering of the textural detail.

Good evening Beverly,
Funny, but must say a most impressive piece of ruins left to appreciate what was a giant priory edifice. From POV taken, those windows are giving just a hint about the tall and interesting archi.-details built.
Finne taken, blue sky appear through the windows, with green lawn ground in contrast.

This view of the gothic priory ruins is excellent, the vertical format detailing the ancient tombstones in the foreground, with the remaining tall ruins permitting blue sky through the unusual narrow arches and attractive rose window. All in fine resolution revealing the textures and details.

I thought exactly as you wrote in your note, there is amazing detail left o this fine wall, all of the blind arches, windows, give an excellent idea to its size and scope and purpose. I love that you composed the shot like this with the table tomb in the foreground asa a lead in. You got a very cool sky that day too, it brought out excellent color in the stone and grass.

Beautiful composition with the ruins. Great contrast with the background sky and the green grass as well. Excellent rendering of the textural details with lovely natural colours. Browsing your gallery is like visiting some of the most peaceful locations of the English countryside.
Thanks for sharing and have a great day.

You have selected a very interesting subject for taking this image. The ruins of the architecture were presented well on the intensive blue sky in the background. Clarity and sharpness are the pluses of your execution. TFS!

The tombstone are leading my eye toward the ruins which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and the colors of the ruins. The good luminosity is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

this is so pretty! and so close to where I live! In fact I was in this area last Monday although in the South Tyneside. I really have to go and see this priory. Beautiful composition with the blue color of course playing an important role here. I like the light and colors. The central symmetry works perfectly here!

Good shot of this beautiful ruin. It was probably very impressive when it was in good state yet ! There are many such ruins in UK, often good subjects for photography.

Only the facade remains of the priory, and that leads me to wonder how it looked like in its full glory. The windows allow us to see the blue sky beyond, which makes this picture even more beautiful. The perspective created by the grave stone in the FG acts as a good lead-in. Good work!

Excellent sharp capture of the remaining wall with a beautiful view of the blue sky and the white clouds through the windows.
The window below just behind the gravestone appears to be still intact.
Splendid light and colours.
Best regards, Paul
