Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday, I showed St. Mary's Lighthouse (A Guardian Angel in the sea link) .
Today, my photograph shows the same lighthouse but, this time, the tide is out and the causeway that links the lighthouse to the shore is visible.
Even attached to the land, the lighthouse has a strikingly powerful presence: a guardian to ships. I suppose that the grey sky and threatening clouds give the lighthouse a sense of its purpose, to be a guide in stormy weather.
The people had just visited the lighthouse for exploration and refreshment. Sadly, we had no time to do that.
We will have to return ...!
Have a great day, Bev :-)

I find that the grey sky is rather attractive and makes a great backdrop for the lighthouse. The image is well framed and makes good use of the vertical format; the rocks offer an interesting lead-line toward the main subject. The people well wrapped up contribute to the mood and provide a sense of scale. Fine technical presentation.

Moody weather suits your subject relevantly and esthetically.
Foreground elements intentionally included in a composition usually help to lead the reading direction towards the center of the photo or to a key subject. Here, the big rock stands more like an obstacle that doesn't enrich your photo or contribute to the overall composition; instead of leading in, it blocks the natural flow and therefore, it would have been a better option to position yourself at a different angle to avoid this visual barrier, even more considering that you had a perfect path at your disposition to use as a leading line.
Other than that, the lighthouse is highly high catching and stands out perfectly against the dark sky.

Since the a lot navigation systems, are the lighthouse a little bit forget, but this are the old beacons of the country, without these lighthouses no traffic on the sea, with the fog horn together.
Excellent composition pleasant to look at.
Your picture is of very well of quality, perfect taken and excellent presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

What a pity you didn't have the time to explore this lighthouse and have some refreshments - still, that's an excuse for a return visit!
The weather and the light might not have done you any favours but nonetheless you have produced a lovely photograph with a fine balanced composition - the lighthouse standing proudly centrally and the houses on the left nicely balanced by the group of visitors at bottom right.
The sky is interesting and the colours true, your exposure is spot-on and the details and sharpness are excellent.

Now that's cool! What a great place for a stroll. What strikes me in this is how the tower raises up into the clouds like this, standing proud against a very angry sky. It seems to be saying "Do your worst" to the weather. no doubt this has been a life saving beacon to many through the years. Lovely composition, it has an almost 3D feel.

You have placed the lighthouse at the centre of the picture here and the composition is perfectly balanced by the people to the lower right and the red roof et the other side. An interesting sky and, above all, an interesting landscape.

view of lighthouse is very nice. Fine composition with tourists on FG. Also stunning dangerous clouds, like before storm. Good presentation.
Have a nice evening.

I like very much lighthouses and this one so pretty and not that far from me. I considered to go there last weekend but I changed my mind as the weather was not too stable, also I thought that Tynemouth Priory may look good in the afternoon and I wanted to visit both places together. Your photos present it in a beautiful way and really encourage me to go there on next possible occasion. We decided that about one hour drive is kind of limit for my daughter so it is just OK.
Beautiful mood you captured here with the dark clouds appearing so dramatic. Also the people are in jackets and it seems quite cold and/or windy. Here the lighthouse seems so different from the other photo, I would not guess that this is the same place!
Have a great weekend,

great to see your pics again :)
lighthouses and more lighthouses...i can't resist!
and when you include a brooding grey skyline, and atmospheric conditions it makes it that much better.
this is one place i'd certainly like to see in person myself one day.
lovely pic all around, even in the cold looking weather :)
